I have an apex ad-5131 dvd player i want to hoook up speakers to to but how? i dont understand the coaxil i matched all of them by color to color but it still doesn't work

The outputs on the dvd are line level and will need to be hooked up to an external amplifier or stereo receiver in order to make speaker work...all you do is hook the audio output right (red) and left(white) to the amplifier and then hook the speakers to the speaker outputs on the amplifier

I need to connect my Panasonic DMR-E85H DVD to an old HMV TV. I need to know what the frequency of the out pout would be for the A1, A2, A3 output channels from the DVD and what the input frequencies...

It doesn't use TV channels, it uses AV, Audio Visual, input. That means you hook up, to the, whats called the EXTERNAL Inputs, A1, A2, A3, these are the external inputs that relate to the Jacks on the rear/side of the unit. You use the output from the DVD, and hook it up to the AV input on TV. Press Play on DVD and Select, correct external input on TV. Usually it;s Yellow to Yellow Red to Red and White to White.

Hooking up DVD/VCR combo to directTV and console RCA

I'd first just hook up the DVD/VCR to the TV and get that working. I'm assuming all you need is the standard cable type connection. This will at least your 4 year old happy. Then you can experiment with the S cable. The S cable will give a cleaner signal from the DVD to the TV. then hook up audio and video cables from the Direct TV to the DVD input. The audio and video will be cleaner using S cables and audio and video cables, but stadard TV cable should get you going. You didn't mention what model DVD player you have. You may have to select the correct inout on the DVD for the Direct TV connection.

Have you tried just hoooking up the DVD player by itself? Is the DVD player output setting correct? Also, make sure the "video input" is set for the correct channel that you are viewing (i.e. Channel 3).

Can't receive proper dvd/vcr signal

Your Toshiba TV uses the American NTSC standard.

Your DVD/VCR uses the Australian PAL B/G standard.

Unfortunately the two are not compatible as they stand, but there may be an option in the DVD/VDR menu to force the output to NTSC. This varies from make to make.

Another option would be to modify your main DVD player to make it multi-region so it will play ALL of your DVDs. Some models can be modified with a simple handset code, some can be modified with a software update, and others need an internal modification.

Post your make and model, and I can advise you on modification.

RCA f20580wn 20" TV about 20 years old

Hopefully you have the problem solved.

If not, the RCA plugs, listed as input 1 and 2 are shown on channel 91 and 92.

I recommend connecting the DVD to either input. Turn on the DVD. Then run the auto programming function of the TV. It will find and program the channel for the DVD. Then use the channel up or down on the remote you are currently using and you should find a working DVD.

Hope this helps.
