Smartbook 7 will not hold a full charge after recharged

My Smartbook 7 will not hold a Full Charge after adapter has been removed. It immediately starts discharging at 94% and down to 35% within 15 minutes making it impossible to use portably.

If my Smartbook is still repairable, where and how do I get a new battery if that is the problem. The Smartbook does not have a User Accessible Battery Compartment and Sylvania Computer is technically out of business since their site is not longer available.

Has it been plugged in to power for most of its life because that is one of the quickest ways to kill a battery and a battery is only good for 24-48 months (normally)

But, it has only been operated on the Adapter as I needed to use the Smartbook a few hours at a time. It was never plugged in 24/7. It was unplugged after every use. So what do I do now? Throwit away?

WShat am I supposed to do with the Smartbook since it cannot be used portably and cannot replace the battery if that is the case. The computer has a Non-User Accessible Battery and Sylvania Computer is technically out of business since cannot access their site anymore

SOURCE: I just bought my smartbook

I would not attempt any repairs, return this if it is under warranty, there is a fault with the battery, the charger, or the charging/power circuit

SOURCE: how can i jail break my slynet7wic-bk-z so i can use its full optimal potential

What you're going to have to look for is a ROM file that contains rooted information. More or less, this will give you access to the root information.

These devices only have about 256 of RAM on it in general, so I honestly will say it's not worth it, even if you hacked it, it would still be highly restricted.

Battery won't hold charge

It most likely needs a new battery, but you could try giving the battery a full charge first:

1. Power off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
2. Re-seat the battery (remove/reinsert)
3. Reconnect the power adapter and let it charge overnight. (6 hr+)
4. Disconnect the power adapter.
5. Power on the laptop (run under battery power only)

If it doesn't boot up and shuts down immediately, it's probably time to see about a replacement battery.

Can I charge the magellin GPS using a wall charger, plugged into the USB port on the GPS unit if I had rechargeable batteries in it? Or will it blow up? Lol

Yes your magelon already has rechargeable batterys so when in your car you keep it plugeg in all the time.I had a adapter plug with the same voltage output but the positive negitive is backwards. If while pluged into your y fi cord turn on the magelon go to settings you should be able to see the battery leavel if it is stuck on full charge then the y fi cord isnt working but if it is charging from low bar to top bar it will work if not you can buy a wall charger made just for that and again you dont need to replace the batterys unless it wont hold a charge for longe when removed from the car but that is usual for those gps,s not to hold a charge for long when out of the car thats just how it is.

NEW Battery not properly charging

Batteries have electronics data that software has to get to properly charge it. Newer lithium batteries maybe different. But apparently, you have a work around for a lengthy use of the new battery.

My acer battery doesn't get full recharge it stop at 86%

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time.

How many hours we should charge the battery fist time Nokia-2700

There are basically 3 types of chemicals currently being used for cell phone and laptop batteries. Ni-cad, Ni-mh and Li-ion. There is a fourth makineg its way in Li-ion polymer. A couple things are consistent for all types of batteries no matter what chemical is inside. You must initially give the battery a 12-14 hour charge on the home charger. (Don't use a cigarette adapter for the first charge. This conditions the battery and don't take it off the charger that first time even if the charging indicator says it's full after 3 hours. Also the manufacturer's also state to run it thru 3 charge cycles. What that mean's is that you fully charge and fully drain 3 times. 1 full charge + 1 full drain = 1 charge cycle. Here's where the way you charge the battery starts to differ.

Ni-cad: Mostly only on older devices, has a "memory" effect, should be drained before a full charge is put on it, should be removed after overnight charge or can be overcharged and burnt out.

Ni-mh: Still used for some devices, has slight memory effect but not enough to have to fully drain before the recharge, should not be consistently left on charger after full charge that can eventually burn out battery and shorten usage time.

Li-ion and Li-ion polymer: Used on a lot of newer devices, has no "memory" effect, should be recharged as often as possible, actually likes to be charged and draining it regularly can cause the usage time to be shortened, can NEVER be overcharged so whenever you're near a charger put it on there. Besides those benefits a li-ion battery is lighter and smaller but the chemical can hold more charge than Ni-cad and Ni-mh.

So the one reply to your question said to error on the side of draining the li-ion batteries. This is incorrect information. You want to charge the battery before it gets below a 20% charge. Also batteries will not go bad from accidentally doing the incorrect charging procedure here and there but normally follow the correct procedure. One last note try to use the home charger more often than the cigarette lighter charger for best long term results. Cigarette lighter chargers do not give a full charge (about 95%) which in the long run can damage any type of battery listed.

The battery full charge only reach 98% & says pluged not charging!!!what this mean?

Due to regular use of the notebook, some static charges tend to stay in the computer, and sometimes results in not allowing the computer to function properly.

Please follow the power drain procedure to confirm the same:

1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30seconds to 1 minute.
4. Put the Battery in.
5. Reconnect the AC adapter.
6. Turn on the Notebook power.
7. Restart the Notebook.

When to recharge batter

hi right to be honest both ways are correct, but if your using it every day then its best to put it back on the charger after every use, but the problem with this is that the battery never goes totally flat, so never does a full recharge this reduces the life of the battery by upto 50% so if you are using it regular and need it charged daily then its best to once a month let the battery go totally flat so that it wont even make a sound then do a full recharge.
Doing this will ensure the battery remains at peak performance and make it last longer.

If how ever your only using it say once a week then its best to only charge after the battery has gone flat due to the fact that it would remain on charge longer and cause the battery to over heat reducing the life span of the battery.

But witch ever method you use always let the battery go totally flat once a month then do full recharge this will prolong the life of the battery and ensure it keeps working at full power.

Let me know if you have further questions ok

Flip Mino won't turn on!

I had the same problem. Here are the steps I took to fix it.

1. Adjust the power options on your laptop to ensure it does not sleep/hiberate ever.
2. Reset the camcorder by inserting a paperclip into the hole in the tripod mount. Hold the paperclip in there for about seven seconds.
3. Then immediately plug the flip into the cpu.
4. You may not see anything besides the little blinking white light on the USB arm for a while (about 30 minutes maybe) but leave it in.
5. Eventually it should spring to life and show the recharging battery on the little screen (the Flip Share program may start too.)
6. Leave it charging until the little white light stops flashing - full charge about 3 hours.
7. You can then remove the flip and change the power settings back to normal.
