Error code 5 means the water flow is obstructed. Here are possible locations:
1- The machine was not descaled. Calcium deposits are clogging the water system.
2- The flow meter is not passing impulses for water flow speed & quantity.
3- Descale Descale Descale.
Before you select the automatic descaling, make a few espresso without adding coffee grounds. The automatic cycle does not clean the coffee side of the machine. You have to do it intentionally.
I don't think this is the case. The E04 code is about lubrication of the brew group. This is directly from Saeco support in Germany. However, the problem does persist. It seems to be an issue of poor design more than anything else.
Working for the Philips-Saeco Costumer Service, so heres your fix.
Call your Hotline, tell em about the error code.
Its about the Temperature Controller steering the boiler.
Its not sending any signals to the boiler when this happens, and the only way to fix it is to have it repaired by a certified servicer.
Ask the hotline about that.
You can get most parts from Saeco directly. I know they are hard to get in touch with, but once you get them they are extremely helpful. The parts are a bit expensive, but it is nice to be able to purchase them. I was able to find a parts list for my Saeco Magic Comfort Plus by doing an Internet search for it. It has every part listed and a take apart view; very handy to see what goes where and what possibly might need replacing. You may want to see if Saeco offers that when you call them for your model.
