Installed a stareo and now gas gage and heater dont work

There are no wires that are the same they are just controlled by the same fuse. do you have a fuse that blows when right when you put it in. the only wires that the radio uses for power are the red and yellow check for a short in one of them. that would be blowing your fuse. yellow and red are both power for them. they are both 12v+ the key is one of them has power all the time and just goes to the battery (this keeps all your presets in your radio) they other one just has power when you turn the key on. both of them need to have power for the radio to turn on. if you have a volt meter you can check and find out which one is which but if you shorted either of them out the result would be the same.
