Question about Whirlpool GB2SHDXTS Stainless Steel

Open Question

Follow up/ update on Whirlpool GB2SHDXTS00 coils freezing

I tried posting this but apparently it didn't post. I posted the problem with my refrigerator that started this thread. I had a repairman out to fix the refrigerator. He replaced the defrost timer. About a month later the coils iced up again. I called the repairman back. He said he wasn't sure what the problem was, but he would do some research and get back to me. Two weeks later I hadn't heard from him and he wouldn't return my calls. I finally called another repairman and he came out today. He said the Control Board is bad. It has a relay sticking. He turned the refrigerator and freezer off, but the refrigerator still kept making noises. He said one of the noises was the damper valve opening and closing, but it shouldn't be because he had turned the refrigerator and freezer off. He listened little longer and asked me if I could hear the humming sound. He said that was the compressor, which shouldn't be making any sounds because everything was shut off. He said the Control Board costs about $220. Does any of this sound logical, or did I get another fly by night repairman?

SOURCE: Whirlpool 20.8 Top won't cool neither refrigerator nor freezer

that's about right, if the compressor is drawing more than 4 amperes, then it is no good.

A reminder also to check the condenser for dirt and debris that could have accumulated at the front, this is a major contributor to compressor failure. check also the fan near the compressor. it should be running at the same time the compressor runs.

that's nice to hear from whirlpool....

good luck tapperal,

tnx 4 using fixya,

SOURCE: refrigerator/freezer won't stay cold.

With the defrost timer being replaced already it sounds as if the repairman is not looking at the real problem. Unit works for 2 days then things start thawing. Hint Hint... it is not defrosting. There is a heating element inside the freezer section attached underneath the internal tubing that melts the ice every 6 to 8 hours via the defrost timer depending on the defrost timer installed. To prove that it is not defrosting..... just unplug the unit and place a stand fan blowing into the freezer for about 90 minutes. I would bet that once you plug it back in it wil work for 2 days and the problem once again repeats. With 2 calls on the same unit and you still have the same problem I would be calling the service people back and demand they fully troubleshoot the defrosting element and thermostat. Personally this is an unstatisfactory performance of an in home service by a repairman. With the exception of a new part if required, they should wave any labor and service call fees.

You might have to enter its service mode option to unlock it. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Check this link and select the site named above. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu at the left top corner or the display window. It will make search easy. Some times, the ads attached with each posts might help you to find the availability of spare parts. There are more than 580 posts to different brand TVs.

Wiring Kenwood KFC-W3003

If it's a single voice coil, it's probably 4 ohms. the sub only handles about 175w RMS, so don't expect earth shattering bass to come out of it. A single voice coil is easy. Positive from the amp to the positive post of the sub, negative from the amp to negative post of the sub. This sub sounds lots better if it's in a sealed enclosure. A ported enclosure allows too much cone movement, heating up the coils, and the sub fails prematurely. Hope this helps.

I need to know how to bridge the mtx speaker 4500

I assume you mean wiring a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub to a 2 ohm load, right?

Follow closely

Go from positive of the source (amp or positive post in box) to the positive of both voice coils.

Then go fromt he positive of the source (amp or positive post in box) to the negative of both voice coils.

You will be running two length of speaker wire for this. It's the easy way and makes sure that each voice coil gets clean power.

This is called a parallel set up and will bring two 4 ohm voice coils to a 2 ohm load.

Happy Wiring
