Wash out outside coil from time to time. This is the most over looked part of window units. Take care not to spray water directly into fan motor. If not real humid in house check temp coming out of ac inside and make sure filter and coil are clean. run on high speed and the air should have good force. 20 to 30 degree temp drop of room temp should be about right. Much depend on outside temp and humidity and indoor humidity plus insulation factor of area. How many people are in the area and if you keep unit on day and night .

SOURCE: I have a GE window

Some of them controls has a small fuse mounted between the touch pad and the control board. If yours is not lit up then the fuse is all ya need. Take the old fuse to radio shack. Unplug the unit if you decide to look. If the control is bad and costly yall can bypass the controls.

I need a wiring diagram for a ge window air conditioner

Need model number to try and find you one. Older ge air conditioners had the diagram glued to the inside of the outer case. Newer ones had a sheet of paper folded up and stuck near the control panel sometimes in a plastic envelope.

One of the most common reasons for a non-working touchpad is a power interruption. If the power to your air conditioner has been interrupted, such as during a power outage or if you've unplugged the unit, the touchpad may not function properly. Another reason could be a software glitch or a firmware issue, which can cause the touchpad to freeze or not respond to your touch.

No Display on controller

Try replacing the battery but if it wont work you need to replace the remote control itself, but for the main time you can operate the unit by pressing the emergency switch button to operate the unit manually.
