Question about Miele G880 Dishwasher

1 Answer

Miele dishwasher Have cleaned the filter combination and the drain pump as suggested but there is still a water pool at the bottom of the dishwasher. Dishwasher does not go further than the first fill of water. Have only used it once since we moved in and it is 2 years old.

Dishwasher won't drain

Good Morning Jean,

I see that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FFBD2411NS, draining. There are a few things I would suggest:

1) If the appliance is hooked up to a food waste disposer, make
sure the disposer is empty.
2) Check to see if the knockout plug has been removed
from inside the food waste disposer inlet.
3) Check to see if drain hose is kinked.
4) Check the glass trap filter to see if anything is preventing the water from draining.
5) Overfill Protector should move up and down freely about one inch. If it does not move, lift and clean underneath. Clean occasionally with
household cleaner containing vinegar or bleach to dissolve any buildup.

If none of these suggestions help your dishwasher to drain the water, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician.

-Best Regards-
WP

Hello, LG LD 14AT1 dishwasher, starts cycle runs 3 minutes, starts stops on off no water in bottom. Then displays OE chimes! Checked tap under sink water there, checked filter inside bottom, turned off for...

Hi

OE in your dishwasher is a drain error and dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. If the issue returns after cleaning then the drain pump assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Dishwasher not draining completely problem usually occurs due to clogged/blocked drain hose-filter assembly or the drain pump not working. First try to clean the drain hose and drain pump filter located inside the front bottom panel for any clogs, then check drain pump operation. Take off the bottom access panel to clean the drain pump filter and hose. If the problem returns after cleaning then it is the drain pump that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Piece of glass dropped through the filter housing when cleaning. Now there is a sound like the motor is jammed.

Hi ghedinger,

Seems something is stuck on your drain motor, now to thoroughly clean the unit and part, do the following:

- Remove as much residual water as possible from the sump and drain hose.
- Open the door.
- Remove the bottom basket.
- Remove the bottom spray arm.
- Unscrew the bottom spray arm flange.
- Remove the filter combination.
- Lay the dishwasher on its back.

Now you will see the Drain pump, like so:

jedemeyer1_10.jpg
Now you need to remove the drain pump from the housing to clean it thoroughly:

- Disconnect the pump plug connections.
- Open the safety retainer clip with a screwdriver
- Turn the pump clockwise and pull it from its holder

Now clean the impeller area, and then re-fit everything (Remember: When refitting, apply a little water or soap solution to the pump seal as a slip lubricant.) Then Test

Hope this helps :-)

Whirpool DU1055xts water does not drain after wash

Hi,

There is a fourth screw under the spray arm. Here are some instructions I put together to clean out the pump. But I do not think this will help the drain. The drain hose or drain pump could be restricted.

The best way to find the restriction is work backwards. Start at the sink where the dishwasher drain hose connects, take that connection apart and try to drain into a bucket. If it does not drain the work your way back to the dishwasher checking at every connection point.

This link will be for the pump cleaning.

Dishwasher not draining

typically either the timer switch or the pump.

If the cycle operates normally, but the unit doesn't drain, then I would suspect the pump.

If you remove the drain hose directly from the the bottom of the dishwasher (be ready to catch some water), sometimes you can clean the junk out of the pump and make it work again.... If not, it's right there and ready to be removed.

Good Luck!

Water pooling at bottom, bad smell, and now doesnt appear to work

My guess is the diverter solenoid which either pumps water to the arms or drains the unit.  It is attached to the waste line on the bottom of the tup.  It can often be disassembled and cleaned.  If not, it must be replaced.
