I had same problem on rca big screen M #p46734ba it was hi voltage splitter the part # for mine is 40431-090 GE/RCA splitter it was $36. online

I have no idea of the model but chances are the back lamp is out and time to get a replacement or the power supply the powers it.
If it is a LCD unit then you may just need a lamp. If it is a CRT then you may have other power supply issues.

There is no separate sound card unless it is a commercial monitor. If it's just an old TV then the sound section is composed of many parts on the main circuit board. If the TV is older than 10 years it probably isn't worth the money to fix it.

GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER WITH MANUAL AFTER IT IF YOU NEED THAT.

In the TV menu make sure under audio speakers are switched on.

When you try to change the volume do you get a display on screen?

If the vol buttons on set work the issue is with the remote itself.

This could be several different problems. You could have loose solder joints, bad capacitors, or the aodio ouput IC could be getting hot andf failing and needs to be replaced.

32 RCA makes popping sounds
It needs a new FLY BACK transformer. That is what you are looking at. The origionals are not made for the set any longer but insist on having a generic on installed by a local TV shop. I just put one into a RCA 31" and it works nice. Don't throw away the TV. Get it fixed. MAKE SURE YOU INSIST THEY USE THE GENERIC ONE! THEY DO WORK!
