Why does oil leak at the front of my engine?

Your Timimg belt or Chain seal is leaking definatly need to replace the seal as this could cause belt slippage and cause your belt to wear premature and you will slip timeing then your out of luck on the side of the road.

I Have a ford F350 disel truck I have a broken part to the cooling system is the part that the belt wraps around

It sounds like either the idler pulley, or the one with the spring in it, the tensioner pulley.

Have a 1997 ford explor 4 cilender 4 by 4 batterey light came on alt was bad replaced it battery light steal on. checked serpentine belt it was lose tenson pulley was lose how do i tighton could that be...

Yes, the loose belt certainly seems to be the possible problem in this case. It's likeley the tensioner pulley has broken and needs to be replaced. Also, try to change the belt at the same time if any of the ribs are cracked or if the belt is frayed.

Installing alternator helps??

the belt tensioner should have a slot where you can fit either a 3/8 or 1/2 drive ratchet in it to pry on it..they make a special tool to fit in it.. but a ratchet will work most of the time.

I cant get enough slack for my serpentine belt to slide back on 1999 ford f150

Utilize the Tensoner pulley (thats what its there fore) while making sure the rest of the belt is tight against the other pulleys. If its the same belt it should go back on. not sure about under the hood of a 99 F-150 off the top of my head but as far as i know thats usually the only way

Replacing a Tensioner Pulley on 1994 F 350

Release belt tension and remove belt. You will need a 1/2" drive breaker bar or ratchet to release tensioner. Be sure to note routing of belt on pulleys for reinstallation in case the diagram decal is gone. Remove the mounting bolt and remove tensioner. Note that there is a locating pin on the back that must engage the hole in the mounting bracket. Line up the locating pin on the new tensioner with the hole in the mounting bracket. Install the tensioner mounting bolt, making sure the locating pin stays lined up. Torque to specs and reinstall the belt according to the diagram on the hood or fan shroud. Be sure all grooves of belt line up in pulleys to avoid damage. If it is just the pulley or bearing that's bad, you can sometimes purchase these separately and use the old tensioner assembly.

Where and how to change fuel filter on 1996 Ford F350 7.3 turbo disel truck? Is there more than one fuel filter?

Please don't forget to rate!!!!

Diesel Engines The 6.9L and 7.3L diesel engines use a one-piece spin-on fuel filter. Do not add fuel to the new fuel filter. Allow the engine to draw fuel through the filter.
  1. Remove the spin-on filter by unscrewing it counterclockwise with your hands or a strap wrench.
  2. Clean the filter mounting surface.
  3. Coat the gasket or the replacement filter with clean diesel fuel. This helps ensure a good seal.
  4. Tighten the filter by hand until the gasket touches the filter mounting surface.
  5. Tighten the filter an additional 1⁄2 turn. NOTE: After changing the fuel filter, the engine will purge the trapped air as it runs. The engine may run roughly and smoke excessively until the air is cleared from the system.

Is it a single cam or 24 valve? The single cam is as simple as removing the belt, unplugging and unbolting the alt. and pulling it out. The 24 valve on the other hand is difficult. It has to come out through the wheel well and in order to do this you have to remove the crankshaft pulley, which requires a special tool to hold the flywheel. I also like the explosives method. There are alot of cars I would like to use that tecnique on. Also there is a belt tensioner. It's the pulley mounted on an arm. You'll need a 1/2" breaker bar or a belt tool to pull it and relieve the tension. Place the head of the breaker in the hole on the tensioner and pull it away from the belt. If your's is a 12 valve, this may be the most difficult part of the repair.
