Pump fluid coming out of breather hole in plastic cap on top of pump

I checked my fluid level on my northstar pressurs washer by removing the plastic filler hole on top of the pump. I was told that the fluid level should just cover the shaft that you see when you look in that hole. I added probably 4 oz. of pump fluid ,until that shaft was slightly covered by the fluid level. When I started using the pressure washer fluid started coming out of the breather hole in the plastic filler hole cap. What's going on??

SOURCE: comet 2.5 Gpm pressure washer pump wont **** soap

I have found many comet pumps to be plumbed wrong from the factory. Look on the side of the soap injector and look for the flow arrow, make sure its in the right direction. If it has worked in the past, then take it apart and replace the spring, check ball and seat.

SOURCE: It will not dispense the soap.

You need to adjust the nozzle on the end of the lance so the machine will draw chemical at low pressure.

Hi, W/D here.
Leave the water on, and hold the trigger down for about 5 minutes to get all of the air out of the system. Letting off of the trigger occasionally and then opening it up will help displace any air in the chambers. While still holding the trigger down, start the washer. Should put up your desired pressure.
Best regards, --W/D--

Where do you add transmission fluid for a 2007 chevy hhr

Chevrolet recommends that the transmission fluid be changed every 50,000 miles, but Chevy intended the transmission to be serviced only by authorized repair shops. For this reason, the HHR does not feature a transmission fluid dipstick. However, the HHR's transmission fluid can still be checked without exotic tools.

It is important to check the fluid level only after the fluid has circulated throughout the transmission by shifting through the gears. Failing to allow the fluid to circulate will result in a false fluid level reading. Turn the engine on and shift through each of the transmission's gears with the brake pedal depressed and the parking brake applied. The car should be allowed to idle in each gear position for approximately five seconds. Turn the engine off, then climb underneath the passenger's side of the vehicle. A small plug is located on the passenger's side of the transmission. Remove this plug with a wrench. Turn the engine on and observe whether any fluid drips out of the transmission plug's opening. If fluid does begin to drip from the plug opening, the transmission does not require additional fluid. Turn the engine off and install the transmission plug.

If fluid did not begin to drip out of the transmission's plug, transmission fluid must be added. Turn the engine off, then remove the black breather cap from the top of the transmission. The circular breather cap twists into the transmission. Twist the cap in a counterclockwise direction until it detaches from the transmission. Because of the lack of clearance between the breather cap's opening and the bottom of the vehicle, transmission fluid cannot be poured into the breather cap opening. Attach a fluid pump to a quart-sized container of new transmission fluid. Insert the pump's hose into the transmission through the breather cap's opening. Turn the engine on, then actuate the pump until fluid just begins to drip out of the plug's opening on the side of the transmission. Screw the breather cap onto the top of the transmission, then install the plug with a wrench.

Gas coming out over flow hose on my cbr 600 f2 and to much pressuer in gas tank

Check the carb float levels and that the tank breather is clear. Pressure will build in a petrol container just from it being shaken, but heat will increase the pressure. The breather is usually a small hole in either the filler cap or the filler cap mount. When you see the MotoGP bikes with a pipe coming from the Filler to the fork pivot, this is the breather pipe.

Sounds like the fluid level is too high. Look at the cap it has a level incator on it, the proper level is on the lower part of it, it also has a cold level mark [ the fluid expands when hot ]. Remove some fluid to meet the proper level, a turkey baster works good.

My clutch won't build up pressure

There are several causes, TURN HANDLEBARS TO THE RIGHT BEFORE PROCEEDING to ensure the brake fluid will not spill onto the plastic, 1, remove the top of the mastercylinder cap and remove the plate inside the lid, inspect the breather hole and ensure it is clean and clear, 2, while the cap is removed check that the small hole at the bottom of the resivoir is clear, there are two holes, the smaller one is toward the center of the bike from the larger one. 3, Replace the brake fluid in the ststem with NEW DOT4 fluid and bleed.

Brake fluid appears to be low. The only resevior cap is a small cap covered by a rubber cover. Appears there are threads on the outside of the small plastic piece? Then there is only a small, pin hole...

Hi: I own a 1994 Honda Accord LX. The piece you refer to is only the upper cap. That portion is basically a breather area and the tiny hole is a breather hole.

To remove the cap to add fluid is easy. The larger gray colored cap below the small one you referred to is the one you want to remove. The smaller one will stay on top of the larger cap.

You'll want to turn the lid to the left about an inch or so. It does not screw off like a threaded cap, but instead turns only an inch or so, then lift straight up. There are multiple little hooks on the under side of the cap and rails on the cup where they basically twist and lock into place.

It's pretty easy. Give it a try. It should come off.

Washer fluid not flowing thru hose

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help.

I hope you mean the fluid is not getting to the wipers. I suggest that you take the hose off of the washer pump and blow through the hose. This should cause fluid to come out of the pin holes at the wipers.

If not, you can take a needle and poke the holes at the wipers and that should open them. Be careful if you make the holes too big you will not have enough pressure to spray the windshield.

You may have a faulty wiper motor. To test this have someone push the spray and listen to see if the motor engages. If not then you must check the motor by running wires from the battery directly to the pump. If it works, then the problem is in the electrical line to the pump.

This is the best I can do with the information at hand.
Let me know of I can be of further help. Please take the time to evaluate my response to your question. This makes me a better helper in the future.

What is the red cap on the cat pump for? And why is oil or some type of redish colored fluid coming out of it?

The red cap is for adding lubricating oil for the crankcase in the pump. If oil is coming out of it while it is running a seal in the head wore out and water is getting into the crankcase and displacing the oil.
