SOURCE: Monitor wont turn on, green power light on
Hi you can inspect that what's wrong with your monitors. After you turned it on and the
screen went black, you have to check that if you can see the image on the
screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find
the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the
icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of the lamps
inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you
cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter
board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by
yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show
leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have
soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so. Hope this help!! If
anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you,

The inverter is the most common item to fail on a LCd monitor. Capacitors usally fail the most. Are the tops of any of them popped up. If you had any shorted transistors the fuse would probably be blown. Usally labeled F1. I would replace all the capacitors first and go from there. Capacitors are cheap.

This seems to be a common problem with these monitors. Have a look very closely and see if you can still see something there. From there, either send it to get repaired, or, if you are handy with a soldering iron, open it up and replace the 4 main capacitors (at least one of them will be "popped", but it is handy to replace them all.
In order to open the monitor, you will need to remove the stand, and make sure you get all of the screws out before attacking it with a screwdriver.
I have 5 IBM monitors at work with the same problem, and opening them up has shown the popped capacitors.
Again, only recommended if you know what you are doing. Screwing it up will leave you with nothing.

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.
