SOURCE: Have a Sears Craftsman lawn tractor 917.271530. It

Hello
I Sent an Answer but am Unsure if it was Posted or Not. Here is a Possible Repeat Answer.
>>The Following is the Instruction File I Made for Removing the Flywheel from Most Mower Engines for Replacing the Flywheel Key, the Stator/Charging Coil/Magneto and the Point Set on Older Engines without Electronic Ign Coils.
>>It is the Basics and if you have a Question, Please Ask. Any Input to Make this File Better is Appreciated.
>>***Disconnect the Coil Wire from the Spark Plug. Remove the Blower Housing (metal engine cover).
>>Remove the Coil.
>>Remove the Flywheel Nut or Starter Cup (Depends on the Model).
>>Now Attach a Steering Wheel Puller to the Flywheel Using the Threaded Holes in the Flywheel.
>>Tighten the Puller.
>>Now Hit the Puller with a Hammer. Repeat this Procedure Until the Flywheel Pops Up or can be Lifted Off the Crankshaft.
>>On Some Models you Can Not Use a Puller and and the Jaws of a Standard Puller will Not Fit. On these Type Engines you can Use a Pry Bar and a Pipe Cap that is Slightly Larger than the Crankshaft. Place the Pipe Cap Over the Crankshaft to Protect it. Place the Pry Bar Under the Thick Section of the Flywheel and Pull Up Against the Flywheel.
>>**BE CAREFUL DO NOT PUT A HOLE IN THE BLOCK UNDER THE FLYWHEEL** >>Now Hit the Pipe Cap that is on the Crankshaft (covered with the Pipe Cap). Repeat the Procedure Until the Flywheel can be Lifted Off the Crankshaft.
>>*** Be Sure you have the Flywheel Torqued to the Proper Torque (I require the Model and Spec/Type Numbers Off the Engine to Provide the Proper Torque) and Set the Coil Gap to .020in..***
The Stator/Charging Coils are then Unbolted and Removed and the New Stator/Charging Coil is Attached.
Assemble the Engine in Reverse Order.
The Flywheel Nut Torque for you Engine can be Located at this Site Addy; http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/engine_specs/ .
The Clearance for the Coil and Flywheel was Included Earlier in this E-Mail.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

SOURCE: Sears lawn tractor tubeless tire replacement

Most local tire shops have or can get tires and tubes of the size you want/need and would install them as well. Without the proper tools, they can be a "bear" to change but if you insist upon doing it yourself, go to a GOOD lawnmower repair shop and have them order the sizes for you. It has been my experience though, the tire shops are cheaper

Where is the fuse located on model 917.276882

It's difficult to find without removing the gas tank. It's on the right side, against the side panel halfway up, closer to engine.

I need a wiring diagram for sears model 917.272066 riding lawn mower

Should contact SearsPartsDirect.com,they have all the wirings on all their Craftsman lawn tractors. There is another way you might find a wiring diagram. Look in back of your Owner's Manual,i have found a wiring diagram & part numbers to include, the whole tractor is broken down in a diagram format. There are other lawn mower shop that should have a wiring diagram,i.e. AMCParts.com. Hope this helps.Sincerely,Brad Locke DTD 12/04/15

Just stopped, put in gas, turn key...NOTHING

If it has a Briggs and Stratton motor open the hood and look all along the wire harnesses. There might be an automotive type plug in 20 amp fuse that has blown. If it did blow there is a reason. First look for a dead short somewhere. Mine was a loose wiring terminal at the headlight. Replace fuse and try to start.

Engine not starting

It sounds like no electricity is making it to the starter. Several things may be wrong. Check to see if the fuse has blown. It should be behind the dash. Your starter switch may be bad. You can unhook it and use a jump wire from the positive side of the battery to the wire connection on the starter to see if it will turn over. The switch under the seat that detects someones sitting on the mower could be bad. You can unhook it and place a piece of wire in the connections to make a complete circuit then try to start it.

Craftsman riging mower will not charge. Son hooked cables up wrong and most likely blew the diode. Where is the diode located?

if it is a briggs engine it is in the wiring harness coming off the alternator, where it plugs into the main harness coming out of the dash area. it will appear as a lump in the wire [sometimes there will be two diodes]. if it is a kohler, it will be in the wiring harness under the shroud covereing the flywheel
