My irobot roomba 4110 is going in circles

My roomba 4110 goes around in circles when I start it. It will stop and start every five seconds, still going in circles. Then it gives me the wheels error code.

Check all the wheels to make sure that they are ok. Check the sensors on the bottom and make sure they are all clean.

I don't know how. They said that they aren't removable.

Turn the unit over and make sure there in nothing sticking between the wheels and the chassis. Hair, string and dirt can cause a problem like you are describing. If you are out of warranty, you can take it apart and check the sensors inside the unit to be sure they are clean. If your warranty is still good and you want to see about easy repairs, get a can of compressed air like you use for cameras or keyboards and use it to clean around the wheels and sensor and see if that takes care of the problem.

SOURCE: my roomba starts going backwards

I had the same kind of problem with my model 400 today...after starting it and having it go in a circle for 30 seconds or so it would finally run into something and then back up a few inches, turn, then go forward a few inches, then back up a few inches, turn, then go forward a few inches, etc., etc.. I tried cleaning off the four pairs of sensors under the bumper and blowing out various things underneath (by mouth since I didn't have any canned compressed air). It didn't really help. It then occurred to me that I had a leaf blower! I put the Roomba upside down on the grass, put the leaf blower on high, and blew at it from all directions and up close. More dust came out than I thought would. It has been running normally now for the last 45 minutes.

Hey

Please look for other same problem posted here ;-)

You are probably facing a bumper sensor issue.
Try to clean the bumper first and if this goes on, either call iRobot service, or
take a look at this page for the step by step 9 beep fix.

Have fun

Roomba going in circles

Roomba going in circles. Called irobot and if reseting it (by taking out the battery, unplugging it from the charger, and holding down the power button for 30 seconds), didn't work, turn the roomba over, take a compressor and blow air into the front. Maybe a shop vac would also work. We cleaned out the whole thing while we were at it. And now it works just fine. The tech person at irobot was very helpful.

Roomba red 4100 cleans in small circle stops starts agains cleans small circle stops then status light comes on and clean button blinks.

When the status light comes on, the Roomba is going to sing "uh-oh," and then beep a number of times. Count the beeps. They're a code that tells you what's wrong with the Roomba. You can check iRobot's website for a chart of beep codes. Search "What is Roomba saying to me?" on the troubleshooting page.
