Question about MPC Computers Netframe 620 Server

Install dell sco

Hello there, recently i 'm trying install the same version (SCO 6.0 O.S) on DELL PE 620 where the DISK controller are two, PERC H310 and RAID H710. All for SAS hard disk. There is my story: I had made parcial installed SCO Opensource 6.0 using librery's and extensions i found into support sites and many others (LSI megaRAID...etc..) in this DELL version. My installation recognice and install sco 95% into disk. Just 5% beford the Goald, there is comming always the following CONFLICT: "idmkunix: error conflict: int=0, vec=4, conflict=4, between=6, device=0..." This is the POINT WHERE I'm stock, I have a SIMPLE IRQ conflict (vector 4 i know it is similar at COM1 serial port).., The solutions was easy in old Dell models, as you know the jumper or CMOS disabilitation was enough,'i'm right? BUT THIS DELL 620 MODEL I can't does that, for 2 reasons: There is not exist phisical JUMP ajustment into mainboard and/or there is not exit any CMOS configuration (or I can't find it) arrangement, as you know DELL have BIOS FIRMWARE Software... Any solution sugestion of this? thank you so mouch in advance.

SOURCE: hi, i have a MPC

You will need to use the F2 option during the initial loading process to load RAID drivers for whatever RAID controller your hard drives are connected to. You caould probably get around it by installing an internal IDE hard drive and loading the OS to that too

How to install sco openserver 5.0.6 enterprise editon in sata hard disk in intel core 2 duo processor.

1. For better compatibility with new hardware, try 5.0.7. for best compatibility, move to 6.0. 2. Look in your CMOS setup for SATA controller options. You must use "Legacy" or "Compatibility" mode. 3. You must use a disk 120gb or smaller. While you can probably install successfully on a larger disk, you will get file and data corruption.
There are other considerations, most of which you can find out about on SCO's website - Support - Knowledgebase.

I have a Compaq Proliant ml370 G3 with an HP smart array 641 controller that I am trying to load SCO open server 5.0.6 on. This is tied to three drives in a RAID 5 config. When I try to run the Smartstart...

SSCD is not supported for the installation of SCO 5,6,7 or 8 you may need to create the arrays using ORCA at the bios of the 641 controller at post and then install SCO directlly from the installation cd.
To access ORCA press F8 or F9 when the smart array controller is posted at the bios screen

Windows 2008 r2. cannot find SAS HDD during install. I have tried to use drivers from Delll official site. But it doesn't help.

What RAID controller are you using? Also, you must first configure RAID in CTRL-C (SAS 5/6) or CTRL-R (PERC 5/6) before even loading the driver will help.

Beeping PowerEdge 1300

When a Dell server beeps in every 3-5 second that mean it comes from Raid controller.
Dell calls PERC Controller.
It usually reason of a disk failure.

Install open manage server administrator on your server.
See which disks are failed ?

Try to run Power edge diagnostics on the failed disk.
If it passes the test reseat the disk.
if it fails disk has to be replaced with a new one.
If passes the quick test, reseat the disk and update disk + perc firmware and driver to the latest level. that will solve the problem!!

99% beeping comes from perc controller because of a failed HDD

Constant beep on poweredge 840 appears to work alright

Besides standard beeps codes indicating Processor, CPU, Memory or Systemboard failures,
Dell PERC (PowerEdge Expandable Raid Controller) or SAS Controllers (Serial Attached SCSI) generate beeps to alert failures on the RAID sub-system.

From your description of the issues (when the beeps start), i suggest you check PERC or SAS setup. If you have Dell OpenManage Server Administrator installed, you can log-in and check for more information. Additionally, on the next reboot check the PERC/SAS/CERC boot up for any messages. You may also access the PERC (Ctrl+M), SAS (Ctrl+R) CERC (Ctrl+A) Management Menu for specific failures and attempt a rebuild (assuming you have a redundant RAID Volume).

You can also speak with Dell Support and raise a warranty call if the system has warranty.

Note: PowerEdge 840 would ship with PERC or SAS Controller. PowerEdge 700 will ship with PERC or CERC.
