Did you try bypassing the solenoid to see if you have good current at the starter motor if you grab a screwdriver and place the tip on the battery lead and kinda angle it to connect the other which is usually above the stater motor wire you should hear the motor run if so you have good current now feed it to the smaller lead but be careful not to have the vehicle in gear or disconnect sparkplug wire just incase:) let me know what you get be glad to help

SOURCE: Yamaha starter

Remove battery terminals and clean both posts and terminals
with sandpaper until you see shiny metal. The black coating is lead sulphate which has a high resistance to current flow both into and out of the battery.. Have a load test done on the battery to check for dead cell. Maybe all it needs is a full charge.

When pulling rope it clicks

This is a problem with either the starter pulley ( rope pulley) if the corners are worn it will not engage with the pawls, or the pawl/pawls them selves have worn

The coil rope broke I would like to know how i can repair it. Generator 5500 watt champion.

If I understand correctly, you have a pull-start generator.

The rope to the pull-start broke.

This happened to us out on the job one day.

Our equipment might be different than yours. Our pull-start assembly is held with 4 bolts. Simply remover those bolts and lift off the cover ... carefully. The rope is attached to something I will call a pulley. The rope wraps around the pulley several times.

Do not lift out the pulley that the rope attaches to >> or the spring that re-winds the rope will come un-sprung (at least it did on our machine). If the spring comes unwound, then you got another job, and have to put the spring back also. Your machine might be different.

Keep pulley in place. Remove rope. Get another rope with same diameter and length and put it in.

Cannot get my trimmer started.

Tom, it sounds like part of the rope has jumped off of the spool. There should be a small piece of plastic with a screw holding the spool in place. It may have worked itself loose.
