Hi i have a empisal 550d overlocker . I have difficulty with cotton breaking after sewing for a few seconds. Can you help please ?

Could be the tension is set too high on that particular thread tensioner.

If it is not the tension, then this is the first thing to try (I know, it's painful but 99% of the time takes care of my issue): Remove all the threads from the machine, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and then rethread from the beginning. Verify that you are threading each in the "proper" order and that the threadpath for each is correct.

If it is a needle thread, replace with a brand new needle. Try a different brand of thread or spool on that particular threadpath. AVOID old or bargain bin thread. Check to make sure that particular thread is not hanging up on a burr, a sharp spot, or looped in the thread tree, etc. that catches the thread and holds it from advancing through the path.

Why does my bobbin thread keep sticking?

thread skipping (that's what its called) is most of the times caused by Not the bobbin but the main thread tension being too tight , as it goes thru to get a wrap on bobbin thread its too tight to make a loop large enough for the shuttle to grasp a loop and pull it tight , this tension needs to be changed 4 every change in texture or thickness of fabric as rarely its one setting takes all

Why does the upper looper thread keep busting?

Quite possibly the machine is not threaded correctly, the tension setting for that looper is too tight (could be the upper looper tension disk is stuck or dirty causing the thread to hang), or the thread is looped around something like the thread tree.

Replace the needles. Remove all the thread and re-thread from the beginning. Be sure to RAISE the presser foot before threading. Make sure to thread the threads in the correct order.

Your thread tension wheel may be set to too high of a tension, which will cause the thread to pull out from the bobbin. Try a lower tension setting.

If set too low, then threat from the top end would hang loose and possibly snag, instead.

Tree diagram...is there a threaded tube running between the two parts of the tree on the front end?

There is the steer tube that is pressed into the lower tree/clamp. This tube is threaded on the top so that you can put a nut on it after the upper tree/clamp to preload the headset when you install the front end.

If I want to put out bird seed as a treat for the birds, how do I hang it? I don't want to use a table, I want to hang it from the trees.

There are recipes for homemade bird seed treats that involve suet or some other sticking agent that keeps it together so you can hang it in a lump. But I came across a very cute web posting with a recipe for a bird seed treat that is heart shaped! Check out this link http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/activities/crafts/wild-bird-treat/

How did my dog get ticks?

Is it possible that your dog has gone through high grasses or walked through the woods recently? If so, you have your answer. Ticks hang out along the ground of trees and shrubs. All it takes is for your dog to walk past them and they will cling to your dog immediately.

Thread hangs up

Remove the needle plate and look for any burrs or nicks that may be catching the thread. If you find any they need to be removed with a small file or emery stick.
