To better assist you, I will need to gather some more information. When did issue start? Has the device been subject to water, or extreme heat? Have you tried simultaneously pressing and holding the bottom button, and the top (sleep) button until it resets?

How to get into safe mode

Power on the machine and keep tapping the F8 key on the keyboard, after a few seconds, you'll see the "Advanced Boot Options" screen, black screen with white texts, the first from the list should be "Safe Mode...." if not, use the up and down arrow on the keyboard and highlight the Safe Mode and press Enter. You'll be taken to the Safe Mode and also you see another warning message stating if you are sure to boot into safe mode or not, click yes and proceed forward. There you are in the safe mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How to go in safe mode?

Hello,

to go into safe mode, turn on your computer and constantly press F8 immediately. You will press the F8 button at the first black screen, that is, when your computer displays its log.

While pressing the F8, a windows option will be the next screen to appear, amongst the windows option, you will see safe mode there, use your keyboard arrow key to scroll to safe mode and press enter.

By now, your computer should be loading on safe mode.

Good luck.

Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

Windows XP won't start

Try starting it in SAFE MODE. Hit F8 slowly repatedly as it starts before windows screen comes on.

When you get into safe mode, drivers that may be failing are not started. Then you can look at the boot log to see what failed and remove that item so you cana restart normally.

You may have a virus.

IF you have created a restore point, restore while you are in SAFE MODE.
