Question about Samsung Galaxy S GTI9000 Smartphone
If you are looking to completely wipe the device of personal information and restore the original factory settings, all you need to do is turn the device off, then simultaneously press the power on/off button and the volume up key. When you do this, do not let go of the buttons until you see the boot screen (it will be very obvious, there is only 1 boot screen) When the boot screen displays, release the buttons. You should see a few options. Using the volume rocker, scroll to factory reset, or reset (the verbiage may vary) when you have highlighted the desired option, you will then use the power on/off button to select that option. You may see text on the device that reads "are you sure you want to reset/wipe all data?" using the same technique (volume rocker) to highlight yes and the power on/off to make that selection. The device will automatically reset at this point and reboot. I hope that you have found this information useful, and if I can be of further assistance, please let me know. Thank you for using fixya!
