Question about Garden
My slt1550 has no drive power when pressing gas pedal.....
Not sure why they are talking about your deck but I would start with just a trams drive belt, you may also have a transmission fluid bottle in the back, if so make sure it is not low,,

sounds like either a saftey switch problem or a bad drive clutch on the pto. usuallly the mower shuts down, not the blades, they may have changed this though. my best guess would be a safety sensor try calling your local cub dealer and talking to the repair person he can shed light on the problem.

SOURCE: I have a Cub Cadet
Check your blade bearings of the deck. Either jack up the mower and put on jack stands / tripods but make sure you can get under the mower deck and grab the blades safely without having the mower fall on you. Grip the blade(s) on the outer end of each side and then try and teeter the blade(s) in the bearing mount. Have someone watch the drive pulley on top of the deck as you do this. The drive pulley and the blade should NOT move. If either one of them moves, your going to have to replace the blade drive bearings.
Also check each drive pulley to see that they are running true. I use the stand off approach where you place something in a fixed position then mark it with a piece of tape at the top and bottom of the pulley, (2 rings of tape.) Then rotate the pulley to see if it remains true during rotation. (no wobbles up or down) If you note either the upper or lower part of the pulley moving up or down as it rotates... replace the pulley. This applies to the engine drive pulley also. A stick or a ruler works fine for the stand off. You just have to keep changing the position of your tape marks on the stick for the top and bottom of each pulley.
Last look at each pulley V-groove to make sure that the groove itself is true. Use a stand off for a distance grip then take a philipps screwdriver and place it in the V-groove. The shank of the screwdriver should not move side to side or up and down. If it does... change the pulley.
By doing this your going to find something wrong as you have gone through 4 belts in a short period.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
