Question about Minolta magicolor 2200 DeskLaser Printer

Multipurpose tray not recognizing paper is loaded

Got an old printer that worked great for my non-profit. We use it once or twice a year to print flyers. Still have tons of ink or I would not bother... I played with the trigger and nothing happened. I pulled the little cover off of where the trigger is and noticed there is a little clump of wires plugged in. It all looked good visually. followed them to the bottom of the tray and around to the side and all looks good until they disappear into bigger black tube and into the main unit.

The kill switch that contacts with loaded paper is not working or rather not having contact with loaded paper tray ensure it does and the printer will recognize a loaded paper tray

SOURCE: Adjust Upper Bin displays on my printer

How old is your machine? check if the printer supports that thickness. if so check the setting of the printer if it match with your actual paper. if your printer is older and your place is dusty try to clean the rollers under/inside the paper tray.

i hope this will help.

SOURCE: Main Unit Cover Open

With the front door open look at the inside /right side about half way down . There should be a stub of plastic molded into the door . this should push a switch when teh door is closed. if not you may need to "extend" the stub somehow as to activate teh switch. I have a short piece of tubing over the stub to get about 1/8 inch of aditional length. Works great.

I have a Magic color 2400W, I have the same problems.
You need replace the cartrigde, after drum laser, maybe the Fuser units is failure or Transfer unit

Is more cheap if you buy a NEW one. I recommend buy the Newest model, included cartrigde , warranty and more. Replace parts on your used printer is more cost that buy a new one.

Is important for people who share their knowledge, know your comments.

Check the electrical contacts on the tray. also, try cleaning the pickup roller with alcohol. the pickup roller may be out of position too. You can manually move it by hand. It should have the flat side parallel to the paper.

Keeps saying paper jamed when I try to print

On the Epson website it is confirmed that the Epson WorkForce 610 will not recognize transparency media. It is just the way the printer works; if it can see through the media, it doesn't think it's there.
However.....you can tape a sheet of white paper to the non-printable side of the transparency, and it prints just fine. I put two strips of scotch tape on either side, top and bottom. Works great. It's kind of a hassle, but better than not being able to print transparencies at all!

I keep geting remove MP paper

This indicates that the machine 'sees' paper loaded in the multipurpose (MP) paper tray. In order for the machine to print faxes and machine generated reports and lists, this tray must be empty as the machine prints from the cassette. Remove paper from the MP tray.

We haven't been using this long and it has been great, suddenly getting an error -load paper in the MP tray? out of the blue

Most probably either someone requested manual feed, or someone tried to print a document, which has a different page size that usual (or perhaps envelopes or something), so it is asking for this special-size media to be fed into the manual/multipurpose tray.

Just put some paper in the MPT and investigate whose documents require this special atention, and perhaps find out why is this person sending non-standard print jobs.

H2 error when printing from pdf to A3 in multipurpose tray

H2 error code means that the paper size you are feeding into the machine does not match the paper size programmed into the machine. Minolta's are picky about these 2 size matching. So if you trying to print onto A3 then when you select the multipurpose tray it must read as A3.
Here is the info from the factory service manual:
H2 The length of the paper set does not
match that of the paper actually taken
up and fed in.
• Load paper of the correct size again
according to the set paper size.
• Turn OFF and ON the Power Switch.
• For copier tray: Slide out and in the
paper tray in which the size error has
occurred.
• For Manual Bypass Tray: Place paper
in the Manual Bypass Tray.
• For Multiple Bypass Tray: Unload
paper from the Multiple Bypass Tray,
then reload it back again.

Tray selection issue: Documents may be setup to print to the MP feeder, (multipurpose feed, not manual feed), but the printer will only pull from tray 4. I'm not sure why, earlier this week it would o

The usual reason that the printer will ask you to load paper into the MPF is that the green paper guides in the paper tray is not clicked in the right position. It only needs to be slightly out of position to give the wrong paper size info to the printer. The easiest way to confirm if the guides are correct is to print the Menu Settings Page. Check that the paper sizes listed in that report are the same as the actual paper sizes in each tray. If it's different you need to adjust the guide correctly. It's remotely possible that the sensing switch is faulty but it's more likely that the paper tray guide isn't latched in it's correct position.

Go into the paper menu and set the multipurpose feeder paper size to letter. It will work if the paper size is set correctly for the MPF.

Dell 5100cn Laser Printer Multipurpose Feed Problem

I had the same problem, my solution was:

1) Go into the Print dialog window, select your 5100cn printer and click the "Properties" button next to it.
2) Select the second tab, labeled "Paper Tray".
3) Select "MPF" from the "Paper Source" drop-down list.
4) Click the "MPF Settings" button and select "Envelope".

That should allow your program to print to MPF for envelopes. This needs to be done in your software, setting it on the printer's control panel didn't work for me.
