What would cause a 97 chevy 1500 with a 4.3L not to have spark coming out of the distributor any ideas

Don't know if this will help you or not. But we found out with our 97 Silverado, that almost everything electrical went through the ignition switch. You might investigate an ignition problem.

Have problem with 97 dodge ram 5.9L no fire from ignition coil 12 v aparent on 2 wire connector at times depending on where it stops after turning engine over . nothig while its turning over

You may have a short in the wiring going to your ignition coil. If there is a broken wire, it may show current if it vibrates into the right position when the motor is shut off. If I'm correct, the ignition coils should always have current (with the key in the ON possition) with the actual ignition controlled by the crankshaft sensor, and possibly other sensors depending on the vehicles design. If all of your other coils have a 12v current, then I would start looking for a loose connection, or broken wire to that coil.

Sounds like you need to get the Starter Solinoid Replaced. Just for Kicks make sure that you check EVERY Fuse and Relay in Both the Fuse Panel inside the Cab and the One Under the Hood.

Need firing order on a 1996 dodge ram v8

The order should be stamped on your intake manifold right under the air cleaner.
My '97 1500, 5.2, 318 firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Hope this helps
