Question about Smeg Ovens
We have a reasonably old SMEG oven which has decided to come up with an "A" in the display and stop working. WE have trying the traditional way of pushing button 6 (cancel), have tried switching it of and back on. Have also tried pushing every button combination known to man - no success it will not revert back to the clock. Very frustrating as it is totally unusable. What do you suggest we try Anneke Wright email@example.com

Turn off at mains, turn on again. 0:00 will flash press the manual op key ( on mine button on right) use +/- keys to set the time. Don't use buttons with wavy lines as they are for setting auto cooking time.

It sounds like you have either one of the following things that need attention. First, turn off both breakers to the oven and then back on. Next check the wiring from the receptacle to the back of the oven. Next, check your internal fuses. Most ovens have them. Last, check the wiring to the elements and control switches. Somewhere you have a wire burned off the terminals or control switch. That smell you referred to is probably one of the wires that may be burned.

SOURCE: Oven Door Lock
We have a Jenn-Aire self cleaning oven. The cleaning latch would only open if BOTH knobs for the cleaned oven are set to cleaning. Then the latch opened right away.
