SOURCE: Bissell 1698 Powersteamer no spray

If it seems like the tank does not fit in securely, the round gasket that goes around the valve at the bottom of the tank may have come off and actually be in the hole in the bottom of the vacuum base. It looks like it belongs there but you can pull it out with some needle nosed pliers. After you remove it, put it around the valve on the bottom of the tank, then it will fit into the hole again and everything should seal correctly. Mine was not spraying and would not suction well. figured this out and now it works great again.

SOURCE: i have a bissell proheat 8910 steamer and my red

the rounded part of the red float goes inside the bottom part of the tank in tank. If you push the bladder down with your hand you can see grooves on the inside of the bottom tank intnak. This is where the rounded part goes. the longer more straight part of the red thing sits straight across on top of the bottom unit on the straight edge. I honestly cannot remember how exactly I got into place but I finagled it in I am sure...

SOURCE: water line routing

The biggest prob with Bissel is not pumping soap. Becuase if you don't run hot water through this tank the soap will dry and clog after cleaning and storing. Before taking it apart try running hot water through the solution tank and help break up the residue, best of luck. Steve

My Hoover spin brush model f711900 leaks? Can this be fixed

Most anything can be fixed if the needed parts are available. You will first need to examine closely to determine where the water is coming from to determine what the problem may be. It is most likely a valve, hose, seal, fitting, tank, etc.

Instruction to put it together

Bissell has the assembly instructions in the manual for the unit. Most Bissell manuals are available here: http://www.bissell.com/user-guides/ . The direct link to the manual for 1950 series Quick Steamer is http://www.bissell.com/user-guides/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=567 .

I hope this helps. Out of the box, the assembly is very simple. Put the handle on the lower body and secure with a Philips screw. The water tanks lift off and then get placed back on the body of the unit. (Use care when the tanks are filled with water.) See the manual for adding the bare floor tool.

Hi there! Below are step-by-step instruction to assembling the hose to the cleaner so that you may use the attachments. I have also included a link to the instruction manual which gives instructions and illustrations as well. Hope this helps!
1. Put cleaner in its upright position. Connect the upholstery attachment to the trigger adaptor.
2. Remove the dirty water tank door.
3. Insert the hose adaptor into the dirty water tank.
4. Connect the base water supply connector into the fitting on the lower left side of handle facing cleaner. You are now ready to do above floor cleaning!

I have a Bissell Quicksteamer plus model # 1950 and when I plug it in it begins to heat the water then trips the circuit. Can this issue be corrected?

Have you cleaned the tanks recently? If not do it.
Remove water from the solution tank and collection tank.
Keep the tanks open and allow to dry in sunlight.
If you can, remove the solution tank and see whether there are any leakage signs where the tube connects to the solution tank. If there are, use an adhesive that can withstand heat and stops the leak.

I have a brand new Hoover model F5918-900 scrubber. It was doing fine. I turned it off and emptied the water tank. When I turned it back on the suction completely failed. No suction at all. I made...

The most common reason for this is that the lid is not fully seated on the dirty water tank. Be sure to hook the lid in front, and then snap it in place at the rear. Another problem could be that the duct is missing from the front of the tank. The duct is removed to install the hose assembly, and may not have been put back in place. It is a square plastic piece, about the size of a slice of sandwich bread, which slides into the front of the tank. A less common problem is that the round rubber seal that the tank sits on has fallen of the motor cover suction tube. Look beneath the tank for the missing seal, and place it back on the large tube that sticks up from the motor cover.

My Hoover Steamvac Widepath will NOT pickup the water after dispensing. I checked the hose inside the cleaner, there was a cut in the hose so I put electrical tape and completely sealed the cut. Still...

Hi, empty the recovery tank of the Hoover SteamVac if the cleaner fails to pick up dirt. Once the tank is full, many Hoover models have an automatic shutoff that stops the cleaner. If the does not resolve the pickup issue, check the hose of the machine and remove any blockage.

Examine the water tank if water does not dispense from the SteamVac. It could be empty and need of a refill, or you may not have locked the dispenser firmly in place. The detergent tank should also be looked at and filled if empty.

Take care

Not putting out water

Hello,

Here's some trouble shooting tips that will help you figure out what's wrong with your Bissell Little Green Machine, and why the water won't spray out. You didn't mention how old the machine was, but if the machine is brand new, and you've never used this before, then you'll need to prime the machine for the first time.

To prime the Little Green Machine, remove the hose after filling the clean water tank, and press and hold the trigger on the hose for approximately 45 seconds. This will prime the pump, and get the water flowing.

If the machine is older, and you've already been using it, here's some other troubleshooting tips that you can do to try and fix the machine:

9c4a1a7.jpg

Step 1. Fill the clean water solution tank with water, and remove it from the machine. With the tank removed, press the piston at the end of the tank that fits into the machine. The piston is the spring loaded part in the top of the water tank that is pressed upwards when the trigger is squeezed, which in turn releases water into the machine. Press the piston inwards with your finger and see if water comes out.

Step 2. If water is released from the tank when you push the piston inwards, then your piston and cap assembly are fine. Next unscrew the cap to the clean water tank and make sure that the o-ring is present. This is the rubber ring that rests in between the cap and the tank.

b5a2508.jpg

Step 3. If your o-ring is not there, you'll need to purchase a new a new o-ring and replace it. If the o-ring is present, screw the cap back onto the tank. Inspect the receiver to make sure there is no debris blocking it. The receiver is the part on the machine that the tank sits on top of. If you see debris here, remove any debris that could be obstructing the tanks piston.

Step 4. After checking these three things, refill the tank with water, reinsert back into the machine and test to see if the water now comes out. If the water does not come out, move on to step 5.

Step 5. Unscrew the two screws on the handle of the hose, and remove the cover that the two screws secure.

1e843f8.jpg

Step 6. After removing the hose cover, inspect the hose that connects to the trigger assembly for blockages:

1b1d8f3.jpg

Step 7. If blockages are found, remove the tube from the trigger, and blow through the hose to remove any blockages, and reinstall the tube back onto the trigger.

Step 8. Reinstall the trigger assembly so that the metal spring's curved side is facing down so that it touches the trigger valve:

026cf8d.jpg

Step 8. After reassembling the hose, turn the machine on again and try spraying the hose again.

If none of these solutions fixed your machine, this most likely indicates that you need to replace your pump. The pump is the internal part that takes the water from the tank, through the hose, and finally sprays it out. The pump replacement is a moderately difficult repair, but if you'd like me to walk you through it, I'd be more then happy to do so.

Please feel free to ask any follow up questions, or let me know if you'd like for me to show you how to replace the pump. I'm always more then happy to answer any question that you may have.
