I realy hope you changed the damaged/used drum , cleaning blade and developer, for your machine sake!
In reality, all this should be replaced at same time, as the blade is already scratched by old drum and developer have a life time defined. Reseting a drum just "in software" change all parameters, developer will no longer be adjusted to the charges applied to "new drum" and then, problemes will start to show up. In this machine, a full image kit is available, but (i do the same) people just rebuild it.But you have to replace that 3 parts. Another advise. You should not rebuid it more than one time as the gears inside the unit dont last that amount of time, i speak by xperience.Spending money in rebuilding and then the gears go off its more annoying than buy a new image unit every two times. The main reason is that the damaged seals inside the unit allow the developer to go to the gear compartment (back of the unit) and damage them. ah, the developer for this machine is type 28 but pay attention to the amount of it, not a full bag, hehehe! More info is available even here, Fixya, but you should not "go with the others". Read a specified solution in a service manual and post it here is not the same as ask someone that REALLY works with it, remember this and avoid headaches. Aldo

My Ricoh aficio 1515 printing and copying with background

If background is appearing on your copies, the problem is most likely the photoconductor unit (PCU) which houses both the drum and the developer. It comes as one piece, and you can easily remove the old one and slide the new one in.

The PCU is located to the right of the toner bottle, and the new PCU will come with instructions for replacement, but it is a simple procedure.

If you don't have a local dealer or supplier, you can purchase a PCU online just about anywhere that sells copier toner.

We have message to Replace Photocondutor. Is that toner? If not, s it self-install or do we call for Tech?

Most photoconductor assemblies are what they call "CRUs". That means that they are Customer Replaceable Units.

Check with the Ricoh web site "Support" to verify the installation process and order the part.

AFTER PHOTOCONDUCTOR REPLACED PAGES ARE BLANK

IF you replaced the entire PCU, make sure you pulled the plastic tabs from the unit and removed the protective paper from the drum area. I don't remember if the new PCU comes with developer pre-installed.
If you replaced the drum/developer, it is common for the lower developer unit drive gears to wear down and break off some of their teeth.

Hope this helps.

Replace photoconductor message keeps appearing

Reset it .
If you are enter service mode 5-912 default 60K just input Zero "0" this will deactivate the PCU counter.

If it is bad you will have to replace it. It is the Photoconductor(Drum / Developer) Cartridge

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
