Facebook will not stay on

This usually means the application (facebook) itself has gone wrong. First double click the home button and swipe upwards on your facebook app (this closes it out much like on a computer when you click the X on the top right)

Then try to re-open facebook.

If it still is doing the same thing then press and hold your facebook application until it starts shaking. An X should show up on the top left corner, if you click this it will delete the application from your phone.

You can re-download facebook from the app store and this will ensure a proper download of the app.

Reasons why this happens, sometimes facebook updates in the background and during the update the app messes up and causes crashes like this. That's why just closing the application helps, sometimes it can fix itself, if it can't re-downloading will.

My Windows Live Mail 2009 keeps crashing since I installed Live Essentials, how can it be fixed

Hi,
here's a thing you may try:
<Go to Outlook.com>
<Sign in there>
here's what you'll need to include in your reply:
<Your Windows version>
<The name of the browser you're using>
<Did you restart your computer between installing and uninstalling>

Lenova computer running Vista crashes most applications. Two examples: Family Tree Maker: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FTM.exe Application Version: 18.0.0.86 Application...

Weird category.  Seems OS- or program-specific enough.

The exception codes are supposed to give you insight into what's going on, (Intel exceptions C000 00029 and E043 4F4D in the context of Vista or your CPU in particular, say) but perhaps you should try the Vista equivalent of WinXP's RunAs options, where you can run them as older applications and dodge some incompatibilities.

Similarly, you might want to create a VM (or runtime jail; many, many options to be had there...) and try it in that context, so that if the program's spoiling things at least your system won't need to worry or crash.  The easiest thing of course is to find updates of those programs that promise to play well with Vista.

Two things come to mind immediately: power and motherboard drivers. With no more details than you've given, that's about the best you're going to get.

Power: Newer cards **** watts like nobody's business. If you've got an older power supply it simply may not be strong enough to run the PC and the graphics card. Along this line, if the PSU is defective/failing/too warm it might not be putting out enough watts regardless of it's age or rating.

Drivers: Make sure your motherboard drivers are updated. It's not even unheard of for a company to ship a mobo with features/capabilities turned off or limited for a variety of reasons. Usually those get turned on in an update sometime down the road. Not to mention that the shipping drivers could just be flaky. You're mainly interested in southbridge drivers here.

And don't overlook updating DirectX and (sometimes) the system BIOS.

These are generic answers - "my pc crashes" is like telling a doctor "I don't feel good": What kind of diagnosis can he give from THAT?

Luck!

Java error

Hiya, this might help. Sometimes it can be a software problem. I downloaded loads of java stuff and my phone 'crashed' and the software needed updating which did the trick but lost me some of my java stuff. I found that my orange phone would not allow me to download orange java stuff and that I had to try an online company like mobilefun so it may be your tariff/provider or source of download that is the problem. Check what compatability you are downloading as not all games that were, will now be compatible as they often change to suit updated phones.
