Yamaha psr4000 no sound when i play keys

To start with try a master reset, whilst the instrument is off press and hold the top (highest) sounding key whilst turning on.
When the screen displays Yamaha release the top key.
If this doesn't solve the issue then it could be a number of things as the keyboard does a self check on startup and will hang if a fault is found. Check each rubber switch is not stuck down or even missing this can cause this issue. Please report back either way.

2000 r1 idle hangs

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Throttle cables improperly adjusted, pinched or need lubrication.
2. Idle adjusting screw needs to be backed off.
4. Air fuel mixture adjusted too lean start with 2 full turns.
5. Intake system air leak.
6. Fast idle choke ramp is not releasing.
7. Broken throttle return spring.
8. Damaged diaphragm or slide.
9. Faulty MAP, TPS, ATS, O2, sensors or wiring/connector

Hi.

Try holding down the rightmost white key while powering up the keyboard. This is a minor system restoration, which may solve your problem.

Below is a way to run diagnostics as well >>>>

DIAGNOSTIC TEST:
if you think there might be something wrong with your board, you can have it perform several tests to see if all works well.
1. Power off
2. press C2# - F2 - G2# (all three together) and while keeping them depressed,
3. switch the power on.
You'll see the word "TEST" on the display
With Tempo - / + you can go to the test you want to perform. Start/Stop will start the test. Wait till a test is done!

Red marks on start-up screen on yamaha psr3000

It is possible after 6 years of use some of the component values of components on the circuit boards are begining to shift. Some electrolytic capacitors may be in the early stages of failure, short of a large investment in time and testing of components, there is no simple quick fix.

One broad brush approach might be to replace all the electrolytic capacitors with newer polymer types, they are more expensive, but also much more stable and durable.

I have recorded a song on the psr3000 in midi format. i want to delete some parts of this song. can someone help

I can't seem to get the manual but I will guess that your keyboard doesn't have the onboard facility to do that. You may need an external computer program to do it. Here is a link that explains:http://www.psrtutorial.com/util/index.html You may need to download some drivers as well so here is the link:http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/psr-3000/?mode=model Here is a link to some good freeware and shareware midi sequencing programs:http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/MIDI_SEQUENCERS/ There is a selection for all platforms not just Windows95.
