I'd like to ask, what blade are you using right now? I have 3/8" Haltbar band saw blade and it's really good in general wood cutting.

Make sure that the blade guides are not too tight. Place the guides properly. Do a thorough clean up on the interior of the saw to avoid dust build up.

I've not used my ryobi planer for a while, when I came to use it there was no power, how do I diagnose the problem.( I definatley know it's not the fuse )

Hi Gavin... Carefully listen and if you are hearing a humming noise the motor is trying to work but could be a chip lodged in the machine as it was turning down and preventing the blades from spinning. If that is the case, unplug the machine and spin the blades with a stick. Ensure the holes for the shavings are clear as well. You would be amazed at what gets into tools when idle.
If that aint the case, check your cord for any pinches or punctures. Check to ensure your trigger is not loose. Best I can offer friend, just passing on prior experiences.

Ryobi WS721 wet tile saw blade wont turn on start up

I just got one of these and the same thing happened, arbor spun slow and hummed. I fixed the problem by removing the motor mounting bolts I wiggled the motor and the arbor spun like a champ. When I reinstalled the bolts I checked the motor after each bolt. What I discovered was the bolts where the cause of the binding so I relieved the pressure by loosening the bolts a quarter turn each. Saw now works perfect. Design flaw!

The disposal only hums. I can turn the blades inside so there is no food stuck. I know there is a reset button but cant locate it.

I had the same problem, it was just humming, then after a few second the on board circuit breaker would cut out. After a little while I could hit the reset button and it would just hum again.

It turns out that the base of the disposal was jammed. There are 2 blades on the top that should spin freely, but the base plate that the blades are attached to also spins. In fact, that's what the motor drives. The two blades on top are not powered, they just flip back and forth as the base spins. So get a broom handle or a strong wooden spoon, stick it down in there, and try to pry the base plate free so it spins. That should do it.

Motor can be heard going but the blade wont spin!!

There is usually a pin in the shaft of the motor, that corrosponds with a slot in the fan blades, it sounds to me like either (a) the pin somehow came out, or (b) the slot in the blades is rounded. Hope this helps
