Question about Computers & Internet
After last shutdown, laptop is not starting up. Though i can see Power LED is ON and CPU fan is on too. Even the USB ports are on. Just the screen is blank. There is no beep whatsoever. Also I checked the screen using some debug codes, screen is showing colors when entered those debug codes so screen and video card is working fine. But still screen is blank. I saw some fluctuations while recharging the laptop, the LED in recharge adaptor port does fluctuate when there is some movement. Kindly suggest solution.

this sounds like a classic case of inverter problems, it could be just inverter coil thats gone which is an inexpensive repair, if it is the inverter then its a bit more.
try the Fn the F key that shows two tv screen icons, it may just have switched to external mode by accident

check the light on the power supply that you are hooked up to. before you plug it into the laptop see if there is a green light when the plug has power from the wall. if you see a green light on...good. it means the power supply is responding correctly so far. if you get no green light, then your transformer is out in the psu. if you get a green light and plug in to the laptop and the light goes out, one of two things could be going on. first there could be a short in the psu like the previous tech said, the second more serious issue could be the power controller on the motherboard. they've been known to go out. like the tech before said. try another power supply if you can. but if you are getting a green light on the power supply before you plug it in...there may be another problem with it.

Check the BIOS for PC Health settings. It is possible that you have put a low value for "Critical Temperature", which makes the Laptop to turn off.

Testimonial: "Yes, this has been helpful. This could be an important clue. I wonder, however, why it would not turn off every 30 minutes throughout the day then. "
