SOURCE: Husqvarna Vicking - The bobbin thread is knotting

Check that it is threaded correctly (both top and bottom) making sure that the upper thread is in the takeup lever. Watch the needle as you slowly turn the handwheel counter clockwise (toward you) and the needle point touches the fabric (make sure presser foot is down). Is the thread still relatively taunt? If it is loose, the upper thread tension unit does not have enough tension. Check the areas where the thread goes and make sure you remove any loose threads or fluff which could be inhibiting the tension discs from closing over the thread. If the tension unit still is not tightening enough, the tension unit may need to be replaced or the circuit board replaced. If everything is ok in the upper thread area, now look at the bobbin area. With no fabric, watch as the needle enters the bobbin area. Does it go down and the upper thread catch the bobbin thread and pulls it to the surface? Check for anything preventing the bobbin thread from being pulled up to the surface through the needle plate. If you have still not been able to resolve the problem suggest you take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Good luck.

SOURCE: The selective thread cutter not cutting thread.

You need a new blade in the cutter. It is a simple repair job, but needs to go to the repairman for it to be done.

SOURCE: Husqvarna embroidery diamond machine not cutting

If the cutter is not moving when the cutter motor runs, there is probably a gear loose in the cutter mechanism. Take the machine to the dealer that you purchased it from, or the nearest authorized dealer. http://webservices.us.vsmgroup.com/DealerLocator.aspx?Brand=Viking

Make sure that you have your warranty card and purchase receipt. If a gear has broken, the mechanism is warrantied to the original owner for 20 years.
If you are the second owner, or the machine was purchased online instead of through an authorized dealer, an authorized dealer will give you an estimate for parts and labor and repair the problem for you.

Thread suddenly jams , bobbin won't turn, after cleaning, re-threading etc makes one stitch with wheel turn then jams again.

Besides installing a brand new needle (which you've already done), unthread the top thread. (Cut the thread below the spool, raise the presser foot, and pull the thread DOWN from the thread tail end--NEVER PULL thread UP!)

ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the top thread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Set the upper tension to the midway point and then tweak it so both threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

How to wind a bobbin for a 250 electronic Viking Husqvarna machine

Make sure that the presser foot is raised if you are winding a bobbin with the top thread threaded through the needle. Place the bobbin on the spool spindle with the mark (a stylized H) outwards. Bring the bobbin spindle down. Next pull the thread from the needle under the presser foot to the thread guide on the right. Bring the thread above the bobbin and wrap the thread around the bobbin several times. Cut off the excess thread on the thread knife and step on the foot control to wind the bobbin. When the bobbin winding is finished, remove the bobbin from the spindle. Cut the thread to separate the bobbin thread from the needle thread. Move the bobbin spindle up.

Sewingpartsonline.com has a link to the manual for the Husqvarna Viking 250 on the machine specific parts page (under Manuals), http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/viking-250-sewing-machine-parts.aspx . The direct link to the manual is http://manuals.husqvarnaviking.com/VSM/Husqvarna%20Viking/HVManual.nsf/5bc6115484660075c12575d2003f80e3/ecf97dd171581582852575ed00755e7a/$FILE/Viking%20210,%20230,%20250%20%20x.PDF . The bobbin winding steps are on page 12. There is also a method for winding a bobbin with a different thread from the top thread. See the manual.

I hope this helps.

Pop up warning on screen not working for low thread on bobbin on Opal 670

Machines that have this feature have a function that "reads" the bobbin level. If that mechanism is dirty, covered with lint or thread, or even a fingerprint, it will not read the bobbin level properly.

Having trouble with tension on my Husqvarna Viking E 20

Be sure to RAISE the presser foot BEFORE threading the upper thread. (Remove the upper thread and rethread from the beginning.) Upper thread malfunctions commonly occur if it is not threaded correctly or the thread is not seated in the tension disk properly.

Install a brand new needle if you haven't already done so.

Where is the serial number on the opal 670 sewing machine

The serial number is on the bottom of the sewing machine. There is a sticker that states where the machine is made, what the model and serial number are as well as the electrical information. Just tip it over onto the back of the machine.

My sewing machine does not move at all

Is the bobbin winder on? If so, turn it off.
Otherwise, is there power to the machine?
And this happened while you were sewing? Cut the thread above the needle eye. Rock the handwheel back and forth firmly to try to cut the thread jam below the needle plate with the sewing hook. If that doesn't work, open the bobbin case area of the machine and try to pull the bobbin case out, cutting any threads you can see with a seam ripper. Still won't come? Take the needle out of the needle clamp and throw it away (it's bent!), and take the screws out of the needle plate (=throat plate) and take the needle plate off after cutting any threads you can reach under the fabric. Keep cutting and pulling out any thread you find, and eventually, you'll be able to turn the handwheel. Clean all the thread bits, lint, and junk out of the area under the needle plate, the bobbin and bobbin case, and the shuttle area... there will be directions in your manual on how to clean the machine, including the shuttle area. Reassemble. Put in a brand new needle, right way around and fully up in the needle clamp. Rethread from scratch.
Always hold the thread ends behind the presser foot for the first couple of stitches of each seam.

Thread caught in spinning handle

The hand wheel is just snapped on. If your thread is tight around the shaft it will be very hard to remove and will have to be gently pried off with a pair of screwdrivers.
