How do I find the SSID so I can set up my new wireless printer?

Most new modem/routers come with a pre-set SSID & password. They are generally located on a label on the rear or underside of the unit.

In the even that yours is not "broadcasting" it's SSID, you'll need to access the modem/router web interface (a webpage) & verify or tick the box which activates broadcast of the network name (SSID).

You can Google for your brand of modem/router to find it's default web address (usually begins something like 192.168....) and username/password. Type that number into the address bar of any browser, input the default user/PW, & access the modem/router's settings. From there, you'll look for the settings page which talks about the network/wireless.

Good luck!

Change network name (SSID)

Is this an ATT U-verse and you have TV on a different box? if so you will need to contact them. If you had to have the router replaced they forgot to re setup the system as the two devices work off each other somehow.

I HAVE A BELKIN N 300 CONNECTED TO MY COMCAST MODEM EVERY 20 MINUTES I LOSE MY SIGNAL, I HAVE TO REFRESH

There are a few things thatcan cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move thewireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locatethe wireless router higher up.2. Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.

I am trying to download movies from Direct TV on demand using a D-Link device and it worked before until I changed to at&t U-Verse. I entered the new IP address to Direct TV i.e. 192.168.1.254 however...

Since you already switched from DirecTV to U-Verse, I'm not sure if you can still download movies the same way your doing before with DirecTV. First of all, AT&T is serious when it comes copyrights policy meaning all of their equipments are secured and won't really allow you to copy any movies from their network. The 192.168.1.254 ip address you put in is the default gateway of your AT&T U-Verse modem, meaning its the ip address you use to access the interface of your modem and eventhough you manage to access the interface of the modem, you won't be able to login to the site not unless you call AT&T technical support team to assist you on logging in to that site.
