Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You can find the part nunber on the back of your keyboard.
When you have that, easyer to find a keybord on the internet, or ask a question from the costumer sevice too.

(And I can help to find a part too after that)

SOURCE: I CANNOT TYPE IN THE SYMBOL @ ON ASUS KEYBOARD 1000H

Your keyboard has a factory setting to US as default. You can confirm this by pressing shift and 2 and you will get the @ sign. If I am correct, then you will have to go to the control panel and change the region /language etc. US default is common as all manufacturers expect purchasers to personalise their gadgets when they get them home. I hope this solves it for you.

Hi Amanda,

You have a key, next to the ctrl key at the bottom left, in a different color (maybe blue).
Press and hold that, as you press the respective key at the top (also blue), regarding ->num lk <-
If this isn’t sufficient, ->comment back<-, and well have another look at it.

SOURCE: Accer ZG5 laptop's keyboard is not working properly

try reseating the keyboard connection to the motherboard. then try turning it on again.

could be a connection issue, could be a bad keyboard.. could be the port on the motherboard that it plugs into. could be software....

probly just a faulty keyboard.. they are cheap. but try reseating it first.

turn off pc, unplug a/c adapter and battery, reseat cable. try again.

SOURCE: hp mini keyboard shift key 2 does not type @

it has to do with your keyboard setting, currently you are set to the united kingdom keyboard layout, you will need to change this to Unite States settings assuming that you got vista, you will need to do the following

goto control panel
click on regional and language option (there will be a pop up)
click on the keyboard and languages tab
click on the change keyboard button (another pop up will appear)
click on add
and add the United States Keyboard
change the keyboard setting on the upper drop down menu to United States, and then click ok.....this should solve your problem.

Go To control panel - Regional and language options and click on Languages tab; there click on Details button in "text services and input languages" ; then change the default input language to English (United Kingdom). Then the keyboard layout will change to UK standard and you will find the Pound symbol.Change it back to English (US) once your purpose is over

My laptop is new @ a key was pushed now the keys type a #

I agree with cra1901. An alternative way of changing the layout is: right clicking on your taskbar and select "language bar". When this is done, right click on the keyboard symbol and select "settings". Change the default language (to UK) and your keyboard should type correctly.

Cannot get backslash (\) character to display

To get a backslash, you need to print the upper ascii character 92 (decimal). On most machines you can get upper ascii characters by holding down the Alt key and typing the decimal value on the numeric keypad. On the little IBM machine I'm typing this on, there is no numeric keypad, but if I switch on numlock (by doing shift-scroll-lock) the j-k-l keys become 1-2-3 etc. Now id I hold down Alt and type 92 (i.e.keys 9-k), this is what I get: \ Howzzat?.

Keyboard

The keyboard is set to usa language instead of uk.

Easy to sort.
On xp.

Go in to the control panel and its the "regional and language" bit u want. Chane the regional option to uk for both bits. Then click on the languages bit then the details button. In there change the default input language to uk and click apply.

On vista is the clock language and region bit u want in the non classic view control panel. Then just change to uk.

Hope that sorts it for you?
