SOURCE: LG S36AHP-UD7 Split Air Con. won't turn on.

Generally when an ac trips the main breaker and the breaker its self isn't bad, the compressor is going bad or is bad. To check you will need to do an ohms test on the compressor. If you get a reading of less than infinite, then the compressor is bad. You will need to test every lead going to the compressor which is usually 3 unless you have a crank house heater installed but they are not typical on a small unit. If the compressor has gone bad it is possible the it took the board out as well.

Why will the unit keep heating when the temp is above the set point?

Last month, I had this exact same issue where my temperature was not matching the set point on my heating system. I called an HVAC specialist and had it looked at. The issue turned out to be due to the fact that I always kept the heater on, instead of just on auto. These types of malfunctions seem to happen when people continually blast their heat or AC. My gree mini split 2400 heat pump air conditioner does not turn off at the set temperture when cooling

I am not sure about your specific model. However most A/C units I have worked with have a fan switch. The switch allows you to choose to have the fan on all the time or only when the unit is cooling. Some of these switches are behind the front panel, behind the panel or out in the open it should be close to the other controls. Hope this was helpful.

Gree 18000 Btu Air Conditioner , f2 appears on display

F2 is an indoor pipe sensor fault. You will need an air con tech or electrician to do this as the sensor is wired into the indoor board. Gree parts can be a bit difficult to obtain but a similar sized pipe sensor from an LG or Teco unit will work. You may have to "splice" the new sensor onto the existing pipe sensor wiring as the connection to the indoor board will likely be different. Contact LG or Teco for your colsest parts outlet or buy direct from them.
