SOURCE: Is there any DIY methods to fixing scratches on

That is luckily the lenses are not scratched. We can polish the plastic by very fine sand-paper then by polishing wax. But we need to make sure the color of the plastic frame is not coated on the surface. It is because there 2 main way in plastic frame manufacting, injection moduling and plate lathe cut. the injection moduling usually color coated on the surface.

SOURCE: Can you put prescription lenses into sunglasses

Yes it is possible.. Oakley makes RX lenses specifically for some of the frames. the previous poster makes some invalid points in terms of what you are talking about. Oakley makes many more frames than just "sporty" frames that fit tight to your head. Oakley glasses are held onto your head by the shape AND by the hydrophilic rubber pieces (called Unobatnium) in glasses that are less wrapped. You mentioned that these looked like Rx Frames / regular glasses frames. Please note, Oakley makes RX frames, as well.

If you go to Oakley's website and look under Rx Sunglasses, you'll see which can be made with prescription lenses, AND ones that you can have an Optometrist cut regular lenses to fit.

However, please note, many Opticians, have lab do their cutting work and some labs will NOT cut for an Oakley frame. If your eye doc allows you to take him a frame, then he should be able to have it cut. It depends on the lab. It may be easier to find a Optometrist with his won lab on site. Those are places that will custom cut.
Of course, if you, as the previous poster stated, do go with a very sunsglasses / sport model, you'll need to stick with the Oakley specific sport sunglasses lens as the lense curvature may be hard to match.

Tips on water sports sunglasses

When you're waterskiing, it's imperative that your line of vision is clear. After all, the other skiers, boaters and swimmers count on it. However, between the sun shining and the wind blowing in your face, you don't always see as well as you should. So it's no wonder that more and more waterskiers are investing in water sports sunglasses.
A great pair of water sports sunglasses, like Maui Jim sunglasses, will offer great protection against the sun's harmful UV rays, and yet still be versatile enough to perform all of your favorite water activities. Also, with rubber nose grips and saltwater effectiveness, you'll be looking sharp while watching your friends and family ski - and seeing sharply when it's (finally!) your turn to ski.
So before you head out to the boat, make sure you grab your pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. You'll not only be protecting your eyes, but you'll help be helping to protect everyone else in the water too.

My right lens is scratched after dropping them on the pavement. Where can I have them repaired? Thank you kevin

Unfortunately, scratches in coated sunglasses cannot be repaired, you will have to replace the lens. Mostly there are even both lenses replaced because it may happen that there is a slight difference between the colour of the old and the new lens. But often you can come to an agreement with the optician, especially when you are his customer to get both lenses for a special price. If you have paid a lot of money for your glasses it may be worth the expenses.

Tips on how to Get Deals on Sunglasses

Looking for cheap sunglasses? Sunglasses are great for several reasons. They can protect your eyes from the sun's UV rays, keep your from squinting in the bright light, and they can create a bold fashion statement. While the first two are reason enough to get some sunglasses, don't forget about the latter. When you're looking for your own sunglasses, you'll want to make sure that they look great. Yeah, you can get some shades at your local drug store, but do they look good, no, they don't. They often look cheap and have bad style and design.

Luckily, you can still find great glasses without having to spend loads of money. There are several great ways that you can do this. First, you can find cheap sunglasses by searching for sales on your favorite brands. Whether you like Gucci or Chanel, you can find deals if you look hard enough. For instance, outlet malls are a great source for discounted designer sunglasses.

If you don't live in an area that has an outlet mall, you still have other options. Did you know that you can save more than fifty percent by purchasing replica sunglasses instead of their designer counterparts? Some people shy away from this because they think they're getting something cheap that will fall apart. On the contrary, designer replica sunglasses are well made and follow the trends perfectly. The only difference is that they aren't made by famous designer brands. If you want to save a lot of money while still looking good, then replicas may be the answer.

Just like with other products, some replica sunglasses are made better than others. You'll want to purchase them from a company you can trust. While there are a lot of great website out there, two really stand out. First, there's Impostercity.com. This website carries a lot of the best brands when it comes to sunglasses. And no pair is over twenty dollars. They have a lot to choose from, so don't forget to spend some time browsing.

If you're more interested in what celebrities are wearing, you may want to check out Voguewear.com. They carry some of the best glasses that you've no doubt seen on the red carpet. All of their glasses cost $19.94. If you're trying to think of a gift for a teenaged relative, this is the perfect place to start looking. As you know, kids like to emulate their favorite musical artists and movie actors.

Leave the Armour Etch on the sunglasses for five minutes and then rinse it off under the faucet with cold water. You can find Armour Etch at any craft store. It is designed to be a fast acting etching compound and works great for getting rid of scratches.

Use toothpaste. Apply a small amount of toothpaste on the lenses. Use a soft, cotton cloth to rub the toothpaste into the lenses. Use a small circular motion. The toothpaste will act as a filler and fill in the gap created by the scratch. Continue applying a circular motion for 10 seconds and rinse with lukewarm water. If the scratch is deep or stubborn, you might have to repeat the process.

Use baking soda to remove scratches on your sunglasses. Mix 1 part water to 2 parts baking soda to create a creamy paste. Use the cotton cloth to distribute the paste onto the scratched lens. Use a circular motion to rub the baking soda paste into the lens. Rinse with lukewarm water. More stubborn scratches warrant a second application.

Use windshield fluid. The windshield fluid will polish off the scratches. Apply a small amount of windshield fluid onto a cotton cloth. Polish the sunglasses with the cotton cloth for several seconds. This method is especially effective against smaller scratches but may not remove prominent blemishes.

Use vehicle wax. The lipids in the wax will fill in the scratches. Apply a small amount of vehicle wax onto the cotton cloth. Apply the cotton cloth into the offensive scratch. Keep using a circular motion until the scratch is removed. You may need to use several cloths, as the wax can adhere to the fabric, subsequently marring its performance.
