This is special operation, you must have skill for to do this. You can use jering with oil and lubricate the house motor is more easy and more efective. Unless the motor is faulty. In that case will be replace it.
God bless you

I downloaded the owners manual from www.usersmanualsite.com but did not see how to undo the grill. However if you go to http://www.holmesproducts.com/Fans.aspx (the fans official site) you should be able to ask them on what to do.

Why is my Holmes HASF-1710 not getting power

This may be a duplicate post but here's my advice. Do a little disassembly to get to the "guts" of the fan. It is not uncommon for the speed control switch to break in such a way as to not allow the circuit to be completed. You may have to actually remove the switch and inspect it to be sure of this. I've had trouble finding replacement switches so I have put them back together with superglue. If this is your problem and you choose to use this solution just be sure all the switch parts get put back where they belong. If this is not your problem, break out the ohm meter and start checking your connections. Hope this helps

Why won't my sprinkler turn. The water comes out fine, but it won't rotate. Mine is a plastic model, and I can't figure out how to get inside.

1) Use a 5/16 nut driver (or flat screwdriver) and remove 5 screws holding body to motor assembly.
2) Use pliers to hold the worm bearing assembly where the tee screws in. Hold worm bearing and remove tee.
3) Use a 3/8 inch allen wrench to remove the worm bearing assembly. The allen wrench is placed in the same hole where the tee was located. (Removing the worm bearing assembly allows you to separate the upper motor housing from the lower housing.)

Use care when removing the top and bottom halves as sometimes the small flat washers tends to fall off the shaft when you open sections.

When screwing worm bearing assembly into the lower motor housing, you are screwing brass into plastic. If over tightened, the housing will split. Rule of thumb: tighten until it feels snug then go a 1/4 of a turn.

Hello. I have a stand (pedestal) Holmes fan, model number HASF-1516, that is not working when plugged in to the electrical socket. How do I go about troubleshooting?

Firstly please make sure that you connecting wire in not cut at any where and connection is good.
If your connection is ok then also it doesn't rotates then might be your coil has been burned and you need to replace its wiring and check the starter

My fan is not rotating when I connected to plug. There is no burning smell or anything. How can I fix the problem? Thanks in advance

Hello.

I have a Holmes pedestal fan that does this every few years. I have had this fan for about 10 years.

Unplug the fan and remove the fan blade guard. The fan blade should spin easily when you tap the edge of the fan blades with your finger. If the blade barely moves and abruptly stops, the bearings are dirty and need to be cleaned and oiled with 10W non-detergent motor oil. A quick-fix is a tiny bit of WD-40 where the motor shaft (the rod that the fan blade is mounted on) meets the bearing (the part of the motor that the shaft spins on). To properly fix this, you must oil both the front and back motor bearings which requires removal of the motor housing.

If the fan blade spins easily and you are certain that the fan is getting power (try a different outlet) the motor may be bad. Likewise, if the fan blade will not move at all. I do not know if Holmes sells motors for these fans. Here is their online support website:

www.holmesproducts.com/Support.aspx

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

P.S.: Never turn a motor-operated appliance on for more than a second if you know it's not working. That will cook the motor windings.

Hi, I have a pedestal fan (16") for which am looking for spare parts. I need - fan blade (5 blades) - the clips that hold the base grill and the front grill Make: Holmes Model:...

Seriously?? It's a $30.00 fan. IF you could get parts for it, they'll cost you more that the original price of the fan, but I guess if you insist. Go here and call them or chat online, they'll tell you if parts can be had.
