Question about ASUS Computers & Internet

Lifeframe photos missing

I copy-all my images to a folder created for them. I go to the folder and the images aren't there. I check the Lifeframe folder under (C:) through program files, progamData, Users, AppData, Documents...I check the search engine, I tried everything I could think of and they are nowhere to be found. I never had this problem when I 'move to' the images individually. Only when I copy-all and moved them, they become (apparently) lost. Can anyone help me with this?

SOURCE: Files have removed not deleted to a unknown location

There is no reason why this should happen when removing a program or software.

Have you tried a system restore?
It doesn't normally retrieve missing files but as it is files specifically related to a program it may work.

Backup everything you want first, e.g copy my documents etc to an external drive

Start --> All programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore

Click Restore my computer to an earlier date

Select a date in bold before the date when you removed the software

Click Next , next

Leave the pc to restore, power plugged in

You can always undo this restore later

If problems, please post results and I will help

Error messages etc.

Thanks

SOURCE: asus lifeframe missing pictures

Hi emoly
try doing a search for a file type, in windows 7 type in the search box "type:jpeg" without the quotes. jpeg is a common type of picture, if you know that your camera saves as a different file type then use that. Hope this helps.

I'm trying to get the images downloaded from the camera to the computer but can't find the right software. I'm on windows vista and nothing is working! Help?

You might not need a software.
Connect the camera to the computer.
Switch on the camera.
Open 'my computer' on your desktop.
You will see an additional icon for the camera.
Open it and browse until you find the photos folder.
Select the files you want (Ctrl+A to select all files) and copy (Ctrl+C).
Open a folder or create a new folder in your computer and paste the photos (Ctrl+V).

If you are looking for a software, FinePix Viewer is the one for you.

You cannot create new folders on an SD card and copy images to them, as the camera will not recognise them, since they were not create in the camera. Copy the entire contents of the card to a folder on your HDD, then format the card in the camera.

Hi Welcome to Fix Ya. I also use an Asus with Lifeframe. Have you tried copying the photos to your Photo folder in your default picture library?

In other words, if you right click your photo in the lifeframe app and select "copy to" a drop down menu will appear that reads: "Select Folder."

2. Click on your Win Profile name. Then select "My Pictures" folder. The path will read: C:\Users\Your profile name\Pictures

3. You can then make a new folder or you can save it in the Lifeframe folder in a new separate folder.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using fix ya!

Trying to find driver download for digital camera PL-50 [A1-W4C98S488244Z. Cannot match criterium on your website Can't get match to allow download.

Windows will automatically install the software driver necessary to connect your camera to your PC. Here is the procedure for transferring the files.

To transfer images from your camera to your Windows XP PC, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your camera to your PC using the USB cable.
  2. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=m9wggrmgsfx4@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

  3. Turn your camera on, your camera will connect instantly to your PC. If a message appears on your camera shown in the illustration below, select the 'Computer' option on your camera.
  4. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=a0xtcanr1rvt@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

  5. After you have selected the computer option, a pop-up appears on your PC informing you that Windows has found new hardware.
  6. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=tuioa5ssuene@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

  7. Double click the 'My Computer' icon located on your desktop. The My Computer window appears.
  8. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=to4yf37vh01w@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

  9. Double click the 'Removable Disk' icon in the My Computer window. The Removable Disk window appears.
  10. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=c8lfz575xq3k@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

Note: The drive letter associated with the removable disk may be different depending on your system.

  11. Double click the folder names DCIM in the Removable Disk window.
  12. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=xzed4rdwasgk@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

  13. Find the folder named 101SSCAM. The images taken with your camera are in the folder.
  14. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=mz3fxisgo75j@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

Note: Each folder in your camera contains up to 99 images. Once this limit is reached, your camera creates a new folder. Folder names may vary depending on your Camera's Series.

  15. To copy the entire folder to your PC, right click the 101SSCAM folder. A menu appears.
  16. Highlight 'Send To' in the middle of the menu. A sub menu appears.
  17. Select 'My Documents'.
  18. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=144733&cid=0rqvdovkfrzf@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

  19. Windows copies the folder into 'My Documents'. Depending on how many photos are in the folder, copying may take a few minutes.
  20. Double click the folder in My Documents to access and view the pictures taken with your camera.

I am a first time user of ASUS virtual camera. Can you provide me with instructions on how to turn it on and off?

Hi kathy_handra,

You can turn on and off the ASUS virtual camera by pressing the FN+V. The Virtual camera uses software called ASUS lifeframe. You can locate and launch it by looking under the ASUS utility group of Icons for Lifeframe. When you open the application it is usually set to video mode. So, to switch it to camera click on the camera icon which is located at the lower left circular menu. To locate the photos, you will find them in your document folder [Documents\ASUS\LifeFrame\Image].

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Need to transfer copied files to x301 after full restore

create a new folder in your hard-disk and first try to copy 1-2 files from the external hard-drive to the new folder (copy any data/work/images you have stored/created not any files of windows folder or root of c: drive)

if the above copy works then copy back all except the c: root and these folders - Windows folder, Document & settings, Program Files
