Question about Apple iPod nano
Sadly it is most likely fried. You must take into apple store and they will tell you for sure.

SOURCE: How to unlock my ipod
Hook the iPod up to the computer you set it up on and open iTunes. When you disconnect it it should be unlocked. If you are not using the original computer that you set it up with, you may need to do a restore within iTunes.

I would send it in to get repaired or replaced if the toggle is broken since there is probably not much you can do to fix it yourself.

yes, unfortunately the ihome iH9 is not compatible with previous models of the ipod nano.
if you want a similar device, there are many other docking stations for the ipod that are ip0 that ARE compatible with the ipod nano 2G
iH85B is another ihome dock which is compatible with all ipods after the ipod mini (including the ipod nano 2G)

It may need a new logic board as well but first, try a restore. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). This will rebuild all the software on the iPod and restore your songs. If that doesn't work, I guess it's the logic board. Unfortunately, replacing that is going to cost almost as much as a new iPod.
