Question about Craftsman Garden
Was fine i got off to remove twig got on and it won't start no spark. removed green ground still no spark. on either plug. seems unlikely both magnitos would go bad at the same time.
You might have snapped the key on the crank shaft.Did you hit anything on the ground? The KEY protects your engine from ruining it.Take the top off and see if the key is still in the groove from the crank. If it is not bent,or is bent.Thats your problem. It will never get spark, and never start.Cost $3.00/Hope this solves your mystery. If not check coil.

pull the flywheel and check if the key(latter models the flywheel itself will need replaced if stripped)is damaged. This is a possibility.

Testimonial: "This is exactly what I did and found the clutch safety switch was sticking closed. Thanks a lot for your suggestion and help."
WHAT U NEED TO DO IS GET A CAN OF SPRAY STARTING FLUID (ANY AUTO PARTS STORE, VERY CHEAP) AND SPRAY IT INTO THE AIR INTAKE OF THE ENGINE, CHANGING THE SPARK PLUG ISN'T GOING TO HELP HERE, SPRAY THE STARTING FLUID AND ONCE IT IS RUNNING THE PROBLEM WILL CLEAR UP MOST LIKELY.

SOURCE: I have a Sears GT
I'm going to throw this quick one at you but there are several problems that can stop the spark reaching the plug. Check the connection at the seat switch. The "connector" has a built in switch in addition to the switch that it plugs into. This is designed to prevent people from unplugging the connector and installing a jumper wire to bypass the seat switch. If this is not making proper connection it will kill the spark. You may also check the pluger switch for the seat as well. Hope this gets you in the right direction.

Hi, the hydrostatic drive is most likely over heating. Remove the battery and battery carrier, from here you can clean all grass and debris from the hydro cooling fins and fan. Hope this helps, regards Phil.
