SOURCE: Ink System Failure
I myself have not tried this, but apparently it came from HP.
HP Photosmart C5180 show ink system failure message
This was what I was told to do for my C5180. First they told me to do a power drain. This is done by pulling out the power cable and then holding the on/off button for a minute, then putting the power cable back in (this didn't work).
Then we did a master reset. Unplug the printer, then pressing the help and ok buttons simultaneously plug it back in. This sorted it. :)
Have to say it looked like this whole process used up shed loads of ink, so by the time I had finished I needed to replace 3 cartridges!

The reason for the failure to register hpbmiapi.dll is a missing registration of ATL.DLL.
1.) make sure that ATL.DLL exists in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory,
2.) in the start menu select run and enter: "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\atl.dll"
Retry the installation process of the HP 3055 printer.
This worked perfectly for me.

Try updating printer drivers:
Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers. Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done
