be sure the pulleys isn't bent. there should be belt guards. be sure they are on. with the engine off see if you can turn the blades to see when and where it is coming off.

The drive belt keep coming off. New mower had another one the same problem took it back and exchanged it for this one 42in mustang

If your drive belt comes off, it's usually a sign of either the belt isn't right, too long... OR the belt guides are either missing or installed incorrectly. There should be guides next to each pulley which keeps the belt close so that when the blades are disengaged and loose, they won't flip off once activated

Deck belt engages but wont stay on

Make sure the belt keepers around the blade spindle pulleys are in place they are designed to keep the belts from coming off the pulley adjust to about 1/8-1/4 inches from the pulley...also make sure the belt tensioner is tight on the drive belt when engaged if it isn't your belts probably need renewed..good luck...

Toro groundmaster 325d wont turn off and belt keeps coming off

The won't shut off has to be a faulty ignition switch. The belts coming off indicate a problem the belt pulleys. The bearings may be bad and freezing up, this will cause the belt to smoke and tear up as well as make the pulley wobble . Does it smell like burning rubber ?? If not then you have a pulley out of line and or a pulley that's cracked or broken. Also check and make sure the deck pins are all in place and the locks are down on the quick release on front and side of deck. While the blades are disengaged turn all the blade hubs and pulleys to see if the turn fairly easy. Check for play or wobble in the pulleys and blade hubs(bearings and blade shaft, also known as the"spindle assembly") attach to these pulleys. Also check the idler pulley(also called the tensioner pulley for wear and check to see that they are in alignment with each other).

Blade belt ariens lawn tractor

I would check to make sure none of the pulleys are bent or has any kind of dents or dings around the rim of them and there is a belt arm that is suppose to keep the belt from jumping off and sometimes its out of position and will eat the belt up

Need a belt routing diagram for a 15.5hp craftsman kohler command model #917259542

With the model number you have you can search for craftsman parts and go to sears and enter the model number and select the deck and find the replacement belt routing sticker for your deck. It goes on the top, left, front.

The belt comes from the motor pulley in between the pulleys in the middle and around the back of them, then out to the front side of blade pulleys, around the outside and straight across the back from blade pulley to blade pulley. Not a hard routing. If looking down on the deck from the seat it will look like an inverted T. Watch out for the belt keepers that help keep the belt aligned in the pulleys, may need to gently retract them to get belt in the pulley.

I have a troy bilt pony and the drive belt to engage to blades keeps coming off. I have replaced the belt and the pully what else could it be?

well i would take a long look at the spring which holds the tension pulley in place. if it is weak, or not connected correctly, there will be inadequate tension and the belt can come off. I would also take a look at whatever fasteners keep the deck in place as if it is not kept to the rear, there again will be too much play in the deck belt.
