Product code scanner (royal 9155SC cash register) not working

After a power failure, we had to reboot the register. everything is fine now except the product code scanner - its red light comes on, it beeps when it sees a bar code, but nothing shows up on the register. I have unplugged and plugged it back into the base - what next?

You might need to re-enter bar codes. Power failure might have deleted them

Here is a link for the Cash Register and tells how to program it.
I suspect the you plugged the unit in after the cash register was under power.
unplug the register and reinitialize it with the scanner plugged in so it will actually see it.
Then try using it again

Half Sysem Clear
a. Turn the key to the "PRG" position.
b. Unplug the cash register from the power source (pause
for 10 seconds) and replug the cash register.
c. Continue with normal operations.


Full System Clear
!!! THIS WILL ERASE ALL PROGRAMMING AND DATA!!!

Scanner trouble


It sounds like you have lost the port settings. Most registers have to have the scanner port (socket) set in programming so the register knows which device you are using. I haven't worked with this model but if you need a manual, one of the users has a Royal 9155SC manual here:

Cash register PE ondisplay and nothing will work


It means printer error. Usually after a paper jam. Clear any paper out and try turning off and on at the wall. ***************************************************************************** *****************************************************************************
