These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. The thought is that it could be a power supply issue! In the back pages of your operations manual is a short troubleshooting guide. I looked on page 98 and didn't find anything for your power light, flashing/blinking five times means. If you can find a service manual on line it may tell you more of what the five blinks mean! What make/ model is your furnace? Do you have the wiring diagram to the unit? Usually on the inside of the heater panel on a split unit where the heater is in one location and the outside unit (condensor) is outdoors.
in this model error 5( 5 blinks then 5 blinks) is indicating AKB, TOO LOW or ABSENT beam current. Meaning the tube has gone bad. You will need to replace the tube. I am sorry for the bad news. hope that doesnt hurt my rating.
The five blinks indicates a lamp driver failure. The lamp driver is commonly called a ballast. Odd thing is that these set rarely have ballast failure. But the microprocessor in your set thinks the ballast is defective and is rendering the five blink code.
