hi According to your information, somehow your camera has lens unit defective. Your local repair shop would charge around $ 35 to 75 depend on what really want to charge. Thanks and best regard!

Unfortunately, small point and shoot cameras do no have this option. Only the SLR cameras are able to take instantaneous photos.

Try to remove the memory card if used, and blowing out the connectors in the camera cavity with compressed air (to remove dust if any).

Make sure the contacts are clean. If necessary try another memory card.

I'm not sure about the lcd screen, except it may require service from sanyo.com.

Experiment with lowering the "exposure compensation" setting until you get the desired results. Also, don't forget to use a tripod.

did you turn of the camera?
the camera need to be on for the PC to detected the memory card.
you also going to need the Arcsoft PhotoImpression software. However, the software is going to cost you $40. if you lost the CD that came with the camera.
you should be view the photo with any of teh photo software you have on the machine.
