Question about Toshiba CF27H50 TV
The screen is green with horizontal lines & the picture flashes. We unplugged it and it worked for about 1/2 hr. We turned it off & the next time we tried it was green again. Now unplugging it doesn't help.
It sounds that the video output section circuit bard to this TV have some loose solder terminals. Resolder all the suspected solder terminals by applying a little more solder. The video output section board can be located at the neck of the picture tube, will directly plugged on to it. Check it. If you wish to know more details about single color display screens, check this site. It has details to that problem. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up previous posts there, either by its left side bar, or view it in Timeslide option.

1.Are these lines only in the upper 1/3 rd portion of the screen? And is there a clear demarcation between this area and the lower portionb, where the image is perfect? 2.Or is thin Horizontal lines evenly spaced around an centimetre apart? If it is the first case, then there si a problem with your TVs SMPS. It is not generating the required regulated 110V required for the TVs functioning. If it is case 2, then there is a simple adjustment at the back - 'SCREEN'. This adjusts the Screen Grid Voltage, and by slightly lowering it, this problem will go away.

First, Id like to know how old is your unit? Also, the lines indicates in issue with regards to the lifespan of your tube. The dominant green color has something to do with a malfunctioning ray gun of your tube. However, i had encounter a unit that was resolved by simply resoldering the circuitry of same problem.
Why dont you try to resolder the board first.
Response is highly appreciated.

The single line means that the vertical deflection doesn't work. And since it is working when you kick the tv or has warmed it's clearly a bad connection - open the case and reseat the wires going to the tube coil.
