I have a lot of various lenses for a Minolta SRT 101 camera body that I hate to junk. Can these lenses be used with any newer digital camera bodies?

SOURCE: I just came into possession

I don't personally know this model. Do you see some little clips along the inside rim of the lens? On some cameras you simply push in the little clips and the lens comes off/on others you unscrew it. Is the lens on the camera a minolta? If not there may be a lens adapter on there as well. Read on each little ring and tell me what they say. and in the meantime I'll try to find more info on your specific camera.

SOURCE: Minolta 7000 SLR

Hello,

I used the Minolta 7000 for several years, and had several lenses to go with it. I upgraded the body to Minilta 700si. It worked well, I still have that camera set.

Then I realized that if I add the KonicaMinolta 7D, digital SLR body I would get the benefit of film as well as digital photography. It worked and have two bodies, 700si and 7D, and the lens set which fits and works on both.

However, in 2006 SONY had bought over KonicaMinolta and the SONY digital SLR camera body range should be able to use the old Minolta SLR lenses.

Pls source the SONY digital SLR Alpha range. It should work with your old Minolta lenses.

Cant find the batteries for the cam

It uses a 2CR5 battery, which should be available at most electronics or office-supply stores. An online source is at http://www.batteriesplus.com/product/31018-RAYRL2CR5--1-Lithium-Battery/563-0/4739-Film-Camera-Battery/56279-Minolta/Maxxum-400si.aspx

It has a Minolta A-mount lens. Any of the newer Minolta (and some Sony) lenses may be used. The older Minolta lenses for the SRT-series cannot be used.

I have been offered a SiGMA 400mm F/5.6 manual lens for a minolta mount. Will it fit my camera? Cheers Pete

Minolta had two lens mounts. One for manual focus SLR film cameras and one for Auto Focus SLR Maxxum film and digital SLR cameras. Sony uses Minolta Maxxum lens mount.
If the Sigma 400 f5.6 lens was made for Minolta X-700 series, XG, series, XD series, SRT series, then it will not fit on your camera.

Can't change f-stop to higher numbers

That tiny silver post on the front of the body moves the pointers inside the body so you can see in the viewfinder where the aperture is set. It should move far enough that it lets you set 1.7 to 22. Check it to be sure the internal display matches the lens setting.
If it matches, and won't let you go all the way over, check the track for obstructions. Remove the lens and check the silver tab. It should go past the A in MINOLTA. Does the tab move all the way with another lens?
It sounds like something internal is blocking the movement of the ring or its linkage on the SRT.
I suggest a trip to the repair shop for the SRT. Garry Airapetov in Niles, IL repairs them at a very good price. He will fix it, clean, Lube, adjust it, and return it for around fifty dollars.
Look up Garry;s camera repair online to check prices and download the form you send with it.
He did a really good job with my SRT 101.

I have a Minolta 700si and want to put a MD Zoom Minolta Celtic 100-200mm lens on it. Is there an adapter that I can get to use this lens and have it fit properly?

There were years ago, but you did not have auto-focus or metering as I remember. Also there adapter had an optic that was not too good so the lens lost a lot of quality when used. Get an SRT-101 for use with the Celtic lens.

Used on a Minolta Maxxum 800 si

Hello
The Minolta AF lens will fit and work on most of the Minolta AF bodies (it will depend on exactly what lens it is as to the compatibility), you will also find that it will fit and work with the new range of Sony
digital SLR camera bodies.

The Quantaray lenses are a little bit more difficult as Quantaray make lenses for several different types of camera body, it should mention on the lens what make the lens mount is for. If you post further information about the lenses it might help.

Minolta 7000 SLR

The Konica-Minolta 5d, and 7d, both discontinued but available used on ebay and other places will work with your AF lenses, as well as all the sony alpha camera bodies. KM sold their camera business to sony, and most of the whole maxuum/alpha/dynax group of engineers went with the sale to Sony. I had a 7000, and an 8000i, and all my lenses are quite happy on the 7D I picked up a few months ago on ebay.
