SOURCE: Sony MODEL KV-2585 TV
You have your information incorrect, Q is not the designation for diodes, Q657 would be a transistor. First give us the correct number for the diode and how do you know it is shorted?

check the right voltage in the power supply first.then check the driver circuit and last the flyback transformer.sometimes there is a faulty shorted capacitor in the 200v or the horizontal yoke coils

if it gets taken out in less than a minute or instantly you may have a cap in the horizontal driver circuit way down in value or open kvf1 is not a good model number in the Sony data base--year and model will be on back of set--KV says it is a direct view or crt type set.
Can you check and confirm the model number?
