Question about tacoma cover, alternator rear end

Alternator wiring mixup? Car won't shutoff when started.

I pulled my alternator out to have it tested. I forgot to take a picture of the wiring setup. Now I don't know which ones go exactly where. I looked up a basic diagram on the web, then hooked everything up. It started up fine, when I tried to shut it off is when I realized I had a problem. I had to disconnect the + cable to shut him down.

Not sure I follow you. The alternator should have a main wire going to the battery, and a plug with 3 wires molded into it. It should be almost impossible to hook it up wrong.
I can get you the diagram but I don't know if it will help much.
You may need to go to a salvage yard and get a wiring harness to fit the alternator plug.
On a 2000 model 4 cyl the red wire goes to the gauges fuse, the yellow wire goes to the warning light, and the small white wire goes to the 7.5amp alternator fuse.

Just had a similar issue with my 09 CVPI.
Charge the battery, start the car.
Car starts and is running, good.
Now disconnect the ground from the battery.
The car still runs. Battery or wire issues something is draining the battery.
Car dies. The alternator is shot.
Got to junk yard find one for your vehicle.
My "battery" light came on and I pulled both the battery and the alternator too them to be tested. Both tested good on their systems. Did the above test and changed the alternator. No issues as of yet and no "battery light. Problem solved.
Junk yard alternator $25.00, $5.00 core.
New alternator $355.xx plus tax and $15.00 core.
Core is money I will get back when I turn in the old alternator.

Battery Light still on

The new alternator is probably ok.
I would say you burned a fuseable link in the wiring harness.
The alternator has a fuse wire between it and the battery to protect it from overload.
Have someone check the wires coming out of the back of the alternator. The big wire should have battery voltage, the small wires energize the alternator when you start the engine.

If i take long distance maybe stop at the garage ma honda ballade 150i model 99 won't start until jumpstart by another car what could be the coz for that.

This could be a alternator that is not charging good or battery or starter or a bad wire or battery connection.

this is easy to figure out , first drive the distance you do and stop at a shop. then try to start car, if car does not start then have them first test the battery to see if it is low, then have them jump it and test alternator, if the battery is good and the alternator is putting out the correct amps then next check starter. if the starter is getting the 12.8 volts and the small wire is also getting the voltage with key in start postion then starter is bad, but with car not starting a shop will find the problem.

1991 ford escort battery keeps dying

Check and clean and tighten all battery, starter, and alternator connections. Also the battery and engine to chassis grounds. Did you have the battery " load tested" as a good test requires?
Take the battery out and have it charged up. If the alternator is good, you should not have any more problems. But if you need a jump after a few days to start it, then either the alternator or the battery is just not up to par. Have the alternator tested while on the car and running.
Good luck.

Why won't new alternator charge battery when car is running

Many cars have a voltage regulator that is integral to the alternator. Check to be sure it is properly connected. One year later afternoon the day before the Turkey was to be cooked I replaced the Alternator. I drove 200 hundred miles and had the car die at the gate to my destination. I failed to properly connect the Voltage Regulator on the Alternator. Look in that direction for a bad wire, fuse, connector.

1994 Plymouth Acclaim 2.5, 4 cyl won't start

on the backside of the alternator there should be a large black/grey wire. check to see if there is battery voltage on that wire. If there is not than you have a blown fusible link that is inbetween that wire and the battery. If there is power there than check for power on the dark green with dark blue wire. There should be power anytime the engine is running. If there is no power than there is a problem with that wire in between the alternator and the ASD relay.

Check those two out and let me know what you find.

Replaced altornator 3 times and wire to battery but still won't charge.

if you replaced alternator 3 times , have you had your battery tested ? if battery is bad usually that will cause alternator to keep going bad . try having battery tested . might just need a battery

Battery tests good & alternator tests good on 2002 buick lesabre. keep charging battery and then it does start, but not after driven for about 20 miles, then it won't start again.

Hook a digitalmeter to the battery in your driveway while the car is running. It should read 13.5vdc. If it doesn't, something is pulling it down. We can start there. Looking forward to hearing from you again.

start the vehicle up and unhook the pos cable from the battery if it dies its going to be a bad alternator or the battery has gone bad.one sure way to know if its the alternator is to un hook the pos cable while the car is running.they can test good even when they arent.
