VHS plays for 5 to 10 seconds then power switches off

I think you might have a problem with the VHS mechanism. Perhaps damage to the mechanical parts. If the mechanism can't perform the task it has been set after a very short period it will send a message to the electronics to shut down. This prevents further damage to the tape or system.

How to connect bose 901 to yamaha htr -6090

Sorry, it doesnt look like you can hook up an external EQ while still using the amplifier section of the yamaha. Instead, You would have to use the preamp out to go to 901 EQ, out of the EQ into another stereo amplifier, then to the 901 speakers. Personally, to power the 901's properly, I'd use another external amplifier. You will barley get 35 watts per channel out of the receiver to power the 901's

BU blows off

Check all the other components related with this power transistor, particularly to the free-wheeling capacitor, connected to its collector to ground. Replace it with a new one of same capacitance value, before replacing the transistor again. Check whether there is a short circuit to horizontal winding section at the deflection coil. If LOT has any fault, BU won't last for long. Will get overheated within seconds after the set is switched ON. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

I have a whirlpool double oven. Last week it beeped 5 or 6 times and the display went black. Nothing would work. I determined that the electronic control was bad. I replace the electronic control today...

Control Power Transformer
Primary Wiring: P16-5 (R) to P16-7 (R) = 75 ohms to 95 ohms
Secondary Wiring: P16-2 (BU) to P16-3 (BU) = Less than 1 ohms
If the control has power and is good, you should see the clock.
Double check your connections...just in case.

This is likely a defective main headlight switch, have the switch looked at for signs of heat related damage to the connector, if that is found replace the switch and install a repair connector, both are avail from most parts stores like NAPA and Carquest.

I ned a users manual for my microwave micronett QN 6090. I have been searching for a PDF file on internet, but I can`t find it.

It may not be available. However if you try a search on another Model number of the same brand that is similar(e.g. QN6095) and get a hit....it may well be very close to the instructions for the one you have. Also, try doing a search using different number sequences FOR YOUR MODEL number. Some Database entries may require that for it to be recognised.

e.g. QN6090 QN-6090 QN.6090

The tv is a 32"

Hello
The horizontal output transistor of your RCA TV has shorted. Horizontal output transistor is one, that drive the Line Output Transformer [LOT] in short, which gives voltages requred to the picture tube of your tV. There are mainly two resons for this transistor shortage. If the above said LOT has shorted [a winding short in between at its inner side; and is irreparable]; and for some other reasons which cannot be predicted. First replace this transistor, which can be located very near to the LOT and will be screwed onto a metal heatsink to radiate heat away from it while working.
It will be three terminal black component. Replace it with same type and number, and switch ON your tV for a short time, say 4 seconds or so; unplug the device from AC mains wall socket, touch the replaced component with bare fingers and feel the heat. It may be slight warm, bu not too hot. If LOT has damaged, this transistor also will heat up, and a whisiling sound will be there. If so; never switch it ON again; replace the LOT and it is damaged. OK.

Sony KF-50WE620 - 5 Flashes

5 flashes indicates ballast malfunction. 4 flashes indicates fan not working. I would replace the big fan in the back because it is a common failure for this model. But befor this check to see if the lamp door is warped from overheating. If it is the wiring on the balast good be burnt and the light engine could be damaged.

Yamaha HTR-6090: fire hazard?

I would check your Outlets to make sure you have Clean Power and are Properly Grounded. That's usually an Electrical Problem, Not the Equipment. Although Sometimes you get Bad Apple!
