Question about GE WBSR3140DW Top Load Washer

Agitator starts/stops rapidly in delicate cycle. Sounds like a bad soleniod?? Suddenly started doing this today. seems to stick on spin cycle too.

Ge did have a problem with there motors and has a new style motor that comes with a capacitor and relay

So when the cycle first starts, it will fill and agitate and spin. But then on the rinse cycle it stops?

Agitator starts at begining of cycle before washer is full

Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

Spin no longer works.

check coupler sounds like it is broken,it is located between the motor and transmission.

Washer only works by manually advancing the dial.

yes this sounds like a timer it sounds like it is getting stuck in the cycle. replace the timer and this will clear up the problem

Will only work on cycle, will not agitate in the other cycles

Thanks for your question You say it works on one cycle but not the other lets sat you start a regular wash ,the washer should fill ,wash for the minutes you have set, pump out the water #spin , Stop fills & rinse stop pump out water &spin If you try a delicate cycle and it does not do what it did on regular cycle . Amana LWA40AL will not go to agitate cycle

Sounds like a timmer to me.. got a couple bad cycles too bad its the main cycle
