Re: Remote channel input

Try taking the remote apart with a screwdriver and cleaning the board with a cue tip and some rubbing alcohol. That usually works on mine when that happens.

The problem is that I cannot change input sources on TV (no remote). The screen says that it must do an auto channel search. I do not have a cable provider/antenna tv channels at home. Help?

Without remote its not possible.
If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites.
Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. Visit some on-line sites too, which deals with electronic spare parts.

Won't stay on channel. keeps reverting back to next lower channel.

Remove the batteries from the remote and see if the problem goes away, if so the remote has a bad button, that can possibly be fixed by cleaning it. Try these links:

I have a Sharp TV model LC-32SB24U. I cannot access the menu screen because I lost the remote control. Is there another way I can change channels without a remote?

The Sharp LC-32SB24U has menu, input, volume up/down and channel up/down buttons on the top of the TV. When you access the Menu using the buttons on the TV, the Input button is the same as the Enter key. The volume up/down buttons map to the left and right arrows. The channel up/down buttons remain up and down. The Menu button is the closest to the power button (on the right). The volume buttons are the ones on the left.

Make sure that the input is set to TV to change channels. Then you need to program the available channels, access the Menu and navigate to Setup (left/right arrows). Press Input to enter this sub-menu. Then use the Up/Down arrows to select CH Setup. Press Input again to enter. Now you can set the channel source and let the TV scan for channels that have a strong enough OTA signal or are unencrypted cable channels. These are the top two options in the Channel Setup menu. The details are available in the manual which is available here: . For OTA channels, you may need to check the signal strength under the Antenna Setup - Digital option in this Setup menu. OTA Digital signals will not be tuned in if the signal strength is low. It's an all-or-none tuning; amplifiers and external antennas may help. See for details of transmitters and the recommended antenna for your area. (Warning: damaged amplifiers can become filters and block the signal on some channels. Replace the amplifier if it is damaged.)

If you look to replace your original remote with a universal remote, you'll need one that was programmed more than 6 months after the TV was released. That may be 12/2005 based on the manual copyright date. Look for a remote that has a Menu and Input or Source button and check all of the codes to find one that matches all of the features on your original remote. Amazon has an OEM remote for the LC-32SB24U; also has a replacement remote available that has been programmed for the TV. (On, search for the LC32SB24U.)

I hope this helps.

We have the M220MV. Cannot change channels using the numeric keypad on the remote. I know it should be possible, the manual says you can change channels this way. If not, the last channel button would be...

Reset your Tv to factory settings. It will unlock all locks including front panel lock.

Reset All Settings

Return all Picture and Audio settings to factory default. A screen will come up to confirm your

selection or to cancel it. Press Left or Right Navigation buttons to make the selection, and then
press OK to accept it.

Setup Wizard
Use this function to return to the Initial Setup menu
Go to its user manual for Initial setup menu details.

How do we change a channel to accept VHF

You can use the remote and push the input button until it shows digital channel. But in order to get VHF you need the access the channel search in menu. You also will need a descent "digital" antenna as the Digital signal is no where near as relaible as analog was. Also older antanna's do not seem to work very well with the digital signal. I recommend an outdoor version because a single wall can interfere with digital signal. If thats not an option get a descent amplified indoor antenna. If you do a channel search without an antenna more than likely you not find any channels.

SVA television. Have model # EV1703 Remote no

When you say the remote doesn't get the channels I have to assume the channel entry behavior changed. I am not to familiar with this brand but these are the basics for most tv's. If you have not removed the cable input to the tv or unhooked anything before the problem started here are a few thing you could try. Push the menu or setup button on the remote and under the channel or setup option on the tv make sure it is set to Cable and not Air or Antenna. Run the tv through the auto channel search to reprogram the cable channels. This process can take close to 1 hour on some tv's since it has to scan through the digital and analogue tuners. This will allow your tv to add the correct cable channels and remove the unwanted ones. You should be able to enter the channel number or move up and down with the channel buttons on your remote.

After new installation of digital channels we turn the tv off , on switching back on there are no channels available.

If your remote has a button that says 'input' It is probabley defaulting to the wrong setting. When you turn the tv on, and get no channels, press the input button until a channel comes up. It should remember that input and default to that automatically.

No antenna tv signal

Your dish remote should be set to the code for your TV. Then you will be able to control the channel number, not just up/down, as well as volume and maybe even the input. But do try to get a real remote for your TV so you can get to its menus.
Meanwhile, use menu+menu to see the channel being output by the Dish receiver. (Must be a 622/722... based on the 60 you listed.) Try to find an unused UHF channel number that your set does have in its up/down list. Match Air/Cable setting of Dish and TV. The Dish output is analog (NTSC) although the tuner(s) only accept digital (ATSC).
