Toshiba M35X-S161 motherboard replacement issues

I replaced the motherboard on listed laptop, and as a result, I'm getting a code 331 (audio beeps), and no screen image. I've rechecked all connections and peripherals. Please advise.

You need to go into the BIOS (setup) and reset to factory defaults first. This should clear up the issue.

I am trying to find the internal battery for the Toshiba MX35-s161 laptop. Where is it in the computer Middle/left/right?

I assume you mean for the cmos unit.
Typically they make it a real pain to get at (requires removing the motherboard from the case) it is usually located on the bottom of the mother board.

My old laptop toshiba m35x-s161 won't turn on the light on the power botton turns on and it makes some noise but nothing more happens

Sounds like there is a faulty connection between the power switch and the computer. Probably why its making a little noise.
Take in for repair and replace power button.

Toshiba Satellite How to remove keyboard and upgrade memory modules. This post was written by cj2600 on April 28, 2006
Posted Under: Toshiba Satellite A20/A25 --> toshiba-satellite-a20-a25-memory.jpgRemoving and replacing memory on a Toshiba Satellite A20 or A25 notebook is not as easy ad it should be. Both memory modules are located under the keyboard. A laptop keyboard has to be replaced in order to get access to the memory modules. Before you remove the keyboard do not forget to remove the laptop battery or you can damage the laptop. Be careful when you remove the keyboard securing strip; do not bend it too much. To remove the memory module from the slot on the system board, release the latches on both sides and the memory module will pop up. It will stay at a 30 degree angle to the system board. Firmly grasp the memory module and remove it from the slot.

Your model of laptop is typical for the issue of the power plug. The plug can be soldered back on. As far as compatible memory you can call toshiba customer support and they probably could answer that question. there # is 1-800-457-7777

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite M35X-161. when i press the power button, it lights up, fans and hdd spin up. and then it kills the power after about 3 seconds. i have tried re-seating the RAM and...

Have you checked the DC jack where the power adapter plugs in. With the adapter plugged in, wiggle it and see if you get movement. Hold it upward and turn your unit on, if the power stays on, then it is the DC connector on the motherboard that is loose.

If your fan is working correctly, then check your ram. But experience has shown me that an issue like this is usually motherboard related.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
